They weren't even the dearest ones either!  It was on 2 for 1 but of course have to pay for the more expensive frames which were £100.  Most of the cost is because I have upgraded lenses so that I get the full width of the lens for the Intermediate area - this is also the area which I knew had changed.  My reading and distance had barely changed which make sit even more annoying!  You're right @Coxy11 it's worth it as I need to wear them all day every day and it definitely stings though.  So glad I use "pots" of money to help budget.  Will need to top up my "Medical" pot over the next few months as DH will need glasses once he's had his eyes operated on and no idea when that's going to happen but could be anytime over the next few months - he was told the wait would be about a year and he's been on the list for 8 months now.

@bubbs - kebab looks lush . I make one using 5% beef mince that you make into a log and either slow cook or air fry, then slice it thinly  - its very good

    What's the unit btw?

@Matron_Midge, a 1/2 lb is 1/2lb. Im another who lost 1lb off, half back on, but I kept chipping away and got to target eventually. And because I lost so slow I basically have to stay on plan for at least 5 days a week - two years later.  It's ok cos I know where I am with the plan and it means I find keeping to target relatively easy. So be proud of your loss

Well done at the allotment @Coxy11 , I couldn't do it. I detest gardening unless it's potting in clean fresh compost and pots !!  Luckily DH and I have what's now classed as an old fashioned division of labour - he does gardens, cars, DIY etc, and I do house and home. That's not to say he doesnt help with the housework - he does , but I only go as far as holding ladders whilst he cleans the gutter or I will vacuum the cars whilst he cleans, waxes and polishes

@joedenise - ouch with the glasses.  Im the same , complex prescription so never get away with less then £500 for a pair that I love  I laughed in work last week when one of the lasses was giving off at paying £50 as she broke cheap ones too quickly lol

@maman , I love a "get my own dinner " night - and yep egg and chips or chip and curry sauce calls me :) Mum and DH like a traditional plate where as Im happy to grab a bowl and throw stuff in using up bits and bobs. Im just as happy with a bowl of lentils with crumbled feta or at the moment a naughty grating of stilton. Or making a simple pasta sauce using onions, aubergines, peppers and tomatoes and stirring in a tin of anchovies and smothering in chilli ( yes I have very weird taste buds )

I had a very busy morning in work, too busy to feel hungry and then straight home for a shower to head to town to go clothes shopping. We have a brand new Primark which is right next door to Marks , and Marks have their 70% off sale . No idea of what I wanted , I seriously have very few clothes now that fit and not really any idea of style for the new me. I made the mistake of spending big money when I got to a size 14 - I just went mad - and now the 14's drown me and I never got the wear from them

First thing was - needing something to eat. It was gone 12, Id been up since 5am. Seriously how do you find food that is SW friendly in a high street or shopping mall? The only food I found which probably was swips free were some salad packs in M&S cafe - but they arent on the app and it was doing my head in trying to get connected to the wifi and actually see the ingredients to enter it all manually - so I gave up. I thought sod it a toastie will have to do, but their prices!!! So I popped next door to Costa - got a wholemeal chicken flatbread but the coffee was an abomination - ended up leaving both

But my frown turned upside down in Marks. After again being thwarted with the jeans Ive been trying to nab for 4/5 months now, I thought Id go rummage the sale rails. 90% of it was size 18 and up and the smaller sizes were for much younger women. I was just about to give up and my hand felt pure wool - it had landed on a Jaeger Jacket/short coat / blazer   Beautiful it is - and a size 10 and the only one. I tried it on not holding any hope , fitted like a glove. The bargain of the decade for me. Last time I got such a bargain on a wool coat was the Next Sale, 20 years ago - Tsunami day - and I had to throw that out when I got the courage to sort the wardrobe as it had got mould. So some of my christmas money put towards a classic , which will last years, as long as I dont balloon again . Italian wool, classic cut - stunning

Food wise, been crap today so far but tonight Im cooking those stroganoff and rice and I think I will have the rice and eggs someway , Fresh hens eggs are just lush

    Morning,

That blazer sounds fab @Longwalker x

I'm going into the office today. They have arranged for a photographer to take 'head shots'. I hate having my photo taken so am girding my loins. Both DD and DS2 were meant to be out this evening but have changed their plans. We had already booked a table at our local pub, so adult kids will have to fend for themselves!

    Food today:
B - toasted protein bagel thin, poached egg, satsuma, banana - HEB, P, S, free
    L - blueberries, apple (in office) - S
D - not sure but there is a steak offer. It includes triple cooked chips so will ask if they can swop for a JP or just salad.
    HEA - milk
Syns - will see what tonight throws up!!

Some good buys in the Company Shop @bubbs, shame they didn't have any more yogurt. I've been lucky with chicken pieces lately (YS in Sainsbury's and Aldi) and I find them very useful.

I watched a bit of a Jamie Oliver programme the other evening and he made a chicken hotpot that could easily be tweaked to make SW friendly.
    Hearty chicken hotpot
Personally I'd probably add thyme instead of tarragon, probably some leeks and wouldn't use so much milk but I think it's worth a try. I definitely wouldn't be faffing about with the cabbage side dish either.

Great bargain with the Jaeger wool jacket @Longwalker and a size 10!! Get you!👍🏼

Hope you're lucky at the pub @Coxy11 and they do have different sides. I've got lunch out next Tuesday and the online menu suggests they do JPs and salads so I'm hoping that will be available. Before that I've got Friday lunchtime to negotiate and that pub doesn't seem to have anything suitable online. Maybe there will be specials.🤔

A bit 'eggy' today but it is what it is.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, bacon, egg (P), mushrooms, tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
    L- Spanish omelette (P,S,F), salad (S)
D- sausage, mash (F), onion, cauli, broccoli, cabbage (S), HM gravy (F)
    Swips- BGTY sausages 2

    Afternoon all 😁

Was freezing here this morning , everywhere was white, it was that cold didn't want to get out of bed 🤣 by the time we woke up the heating had gone off as it was 8.45!

I meant to say, yesterday we had our electricity bill, we knew the electric was going up, we have just come to an end of a 7 yr fix so knew it would be alot, we were paying 19.3p per unit, it's now 29.2 p per unit but what i cannot understand the bill is more or less double 😱 had such a shock how much it is 🤨 so if it has gone up 10p a unit how can it be nearly double? I have calculated the units against ppu and it is right 🤷‍♀️

    Anyway 🤣 food today

    Picky plate, free

Tonight we are having an experiment chicken casserole, nought some Heinz chicken broth soup a few weeks ago in the company shop 50p, 1.5 syns a tin, so i said to dh bet they will be nice as casserole, so for the two of us meal is costing about £2 , using chicken i got yesterday and cheap veg still for Christmas, bagged myself another 7.5 kg sack of potatoes free from lidl for using the reward app .

    Enjoy your meal Coxy

Afternoon all, just typed a long post and lost it!  The list of it was that plans changed for today.  DH was supposed to be having a tooth extraction but as he's not in pain with it the dentist said don't bother just make another appointment if it starts hurting!

As we were driving home DH said that's go for a drive and go out for lunch so we did!  He drove to Canterbury and we got the bus to Folkestone and went to the fish restaurant.  Unfortunately it wasn't up to it's usual standard!  My grilled cod was the thinnest ever fillet and the salad was just half a plate of shredded lettuce, 2 small wedges of tomato and 2 slices of cucumber!  No dressing available other than mayo so I just had a squeeze of lemon on it.

DH decided to have haddock, chips and mushy peas.  The mushy peas were watery so he didn't eat them, the fish and chips looked like they'd been cooked earlier and reheated as the fish was dry and overcooked and the batter dark brown and hard not crispy.  The only good thing was the cups of tea!  Probably won't go back there for a long time!

Well done on the new to you blazer @Longwalker and a size 10 woo hoo.  That will last you years as it's a classic.

Some good bargains @bubbs from the Company Shop, shame about the yoghurt as you eat loads like me every week.  Good use of the chicken.

    Today's plan:

B - Protein muffin, smashed avocado, poached egg - HEB; HE fat; P
    L - grilled cod, salad - P; S
    D - lamb casserole, mash, green veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - muffin
    HE Fat - avocado

    Syns - none planned

Hope you've all had a good day.
