I know, but it is only because I have the book group and I won't have anything to say about the book! I am going to read a bit more on Monday and then just flick to the end and see if anything actually happens!KajiKita said:@Wednesday2000, I regularly give myself permission not to finish books I’m not enjoying … 😉

I picked it up earlier and read a few more pages and then just went to the end to see what happened. That was one of the worst books I have ever read! Apparently there are 6 more of them.😝 Absolute snooze.😴
It is going in the donation bag to the charity shop tomorrow.
I have a class tomorrow and then I am meeting my husband for lunch at a cafe.😍4 -
Tie back hooks up, coat hook up on back bedroom door, hooks up in wardrobe, new blind up, shrubs hacked (handyman has been). Drain man has been and hopefully the pump is now fixed.
Went to supermarket and now have lots of food and nothing to eat. So tomorrow needs to involve actual cooking...
Chased Dunhelm to find out where the curtains are that were due for delivery yesterday... apparently the supplier isn't expecting the fabric until 8th Feb. I'm not exactly impressed that they didn't share this information earlier. As the blind has already arrived and been put up, I can't exactly change my mind. But it might motivate me to send back the lamp.
So I need to get the heat pump paperwork moving and look at the planning portal to see what I need to do about building control for the next phase of work.

We are planning a bit of a beekeeping kit stock take today, so we can develop a list of jobs to do before the bees build up again. Lots of cleaning, mending and making are in my head.
We are also resuming a healthy eating regime now the last of the Christmas fayre has gone (except one pack of medjool dates, half a Christmas cake in the freezer and two lumps of cheese in the freezer). It will start with a 14 hour fast, so my body knows, and that begins on Sunday evening. Mr Sl needs more food than me so I need to make sure he has healthier options than recentlySave £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I finished the year at £2880.99/£3000 or 96.03% of my annual spend so I am sticking with a £3000 annual budget for 2026

Finished a perfume sample
Found some mince pies in the freezer so defrosted and ate one
Attempted to descale the kettle with lemon. This appears to have merely resulted in the waste of a lemon but at least I tried
Finished a bottle of cleaning product, we have quite a collection from various home combinings and don't want to waste them, but it'll be a relief to be down to a few preferred essentials
I have a trousers hanger which has been annoying me for about two years as it has a sticky label on one side so when taking pictures for listings you have to keep changing it around.
Finally came up with the frankly brilliant, novel, and astonishing idea of- prepare yourselves gang- taking the label off 🤦♀️https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

Well I was feeling a bit yuck but then I read about you descaling the kettle & I thought aren't I lucky I no longer live in an area where the kettle ever needs descaling, the very large water softener didn't help a lot. Then I read about the hanger & I have that been there done that feeling. So thanks for sharing.3

Not having to descale (or more likely, constantly replace) the kettle @badmemory, what is this utopia of which you speak 😲😁
Hope you feel less yuck very soon, sending a very stern look at your yuckhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

I live in a hard water area now too and I find it very annoying!
I went to my class today and my husband met me afterwards and dropped off the donation bag to the charity shop. We had a meal at the cafe and then went to Lidl. I keep reading people raving about these cookies from Lidl that are accidentally vegan so we bought a couple of packets. We bought apple turnovers from there too and we got two pastries from the cafe so some of it obviously had to be put in the freezer. I feel so full up from my breakfast/brunch we had that I am not in the mood for any of them.
I started a book for another book group before I went out this morning so I need to finish that soon. I have read it before, but years ago.
I have a class that my husband is (unusually) attending with me tomorrow. I just booked us a restaurant for lunch after that.
We are getting new kitchen doors and a new kitchen unit fitted next week so he will be here on Monday morning, I hope. I am extremely busy next week as on top of that as I have four classes, a show in London, two meet-ups and a concert to go to.4 -
@PennysIntoPounds - I have always used a little bit of vinegar in war to descale my kettles. It has always worked. I just heat it to boiling and let it boil for a few minutes. Then rinse and wipe out.4
