I think the rave is done now. Time for a wind down. Anybody fancy a cuppa? <switches on kettle and starts rummaging in cupboard for teabags and coffee>
Yes, here’s the section of trifle for Mr GP - from sprinkles down to the bottom of the bowl, @Greying_Pilgrim 😊
@ladybird1106m you might have a bit of wait, there’s snoring coming from all directions here … 😂😉

If I'm going, there won't be any leftover trifle 😆

Chuckling … 😊
One veg bed completely cleared, end to end, broad forked and three bags of HM compost spread over it! I replanted the three foxgloves and two chamomile volunteers at the hedge / north end of the bed - they will look nice against the hedge 😊 Very chuffed to be able to say that there is only one really bad bed left to do - I’m well over half way through this job 😊💪
I then spent 30 minutes, until the end of the working day, under the apple trees by the big pond, pulling out dead material by hand. This is an intentionally shaggy, wild area, but it’s been looking a mess for a while and as we have a bench down there i sit in regularly, I wanted it to look a bit nicer. It’s not finished but looking a lot better 😊 I also found waaaaay too many baby goats trees! They have to come out! But in doing that, it will make space / planting holes for some things that need rehoming from the veggie patch and the tall aster that is starting to run everywhere in the sit spot border and needs to come out entirely.
Slot is booked at the recycling centre for tomorrow afternoon and Mr KK and I have pulled together a respectable amount of ‘stuff’ to go. It’s already loaded up in the van, ready to go tomorrow 😊
Managed 30g of protein for lunch. Yee gods that’s a lot of food! 😂 But if I really have been that short of protein maybe that explains why I have been struggling to lose weight etc etc? 🤷♀️
Popped out to c00p as we didn’t have enough eggs and Mr KK wants pancakes tomorrow. Found the eggs, an extra pint of milk and, in best MSE late winter tradition, a bunch of daffodils reduced to 49p! I treated myself … 😉😊
Bit tired now … 😂

Well done on the gardening. I only managed to weed half an asparagus bed - I'd hoped to get the whole thing done and some strawberries shoved in with it.

And all I managed was to walk out to the garden to see if there's any rhubarb thinking of showing itself off. I'd say 2 weeks of warmish weather and I'll be able to make a rhubarb and custard cake.

Well done on your weeding! 😊 I've been out in the garden too, mostly shifting mole hills and stones 😂 My rhubarb is indeed showing itself, reckon it'll be more than a couple of weeks until pies for us though (we're quite high up and behind warmer places)

My rhubarb is just about showing above the surface of the soil - so definitely some way off being turned into crumble (also it'll only be it's second year, so I won't get much!).

We’ve put a couple of old dustbins over 3 rhubarb plants to force the pretty pink stems.

I’m glad he enjoyed it 😉 I suspect there will have to be several variants of trifle for ‘next time’! 😊😉
Well, today was supposed to be quiet day but I seem to have been on the run since a late get up.
Three loads of washing still in process as Mr KK wanted to wash his dressing gown and my gardening trousers were a muddy disgrace!
Made a batch of leek and split pea soup for work. Didn’t need a full pack of leeks so froze half of them, washed and sliced.
Made a pancake mix as Mr KK loves them and we won’t have time in the week. That was a light lunch.
Tip run - very quiet there. Everyone must be watching some sport thing or other … 😉
Popped into garden centre on the way home and finally picked up and couple of bags of compost. This means I can sow some sweet peas this week 😊
Whilst loading the van with the compost in town, the heavens opened, complete with thunder! 😳 We got back to a wood delivery and biblical levels of rain.
Once the monsoon had eased off, we loaded almost all of the wood into the store and bagged up the rest into the DIY shed.
Finished a novel 😊
Had a cuppa and a high protein snack as the pancakes had left me hungry …Still got my work out to do … Sigh …
