Thanks @Cheery_Daff, @rtandon27, @Merlin's_Beard, @PennysIntoPounds 😊
Our usual Chinese wasn’t answering the phone last night so we tried another one which we’ve never looked at before because it is harder to park near. The food was quite a bit better and I think that will be our preferred option going forwards now 😊
Did some refilling of potting shed and more cleaning - my stool (which I have t been able to access for c. 2 years) got a full wipe down and a bit of a polish! 😊 I also asked Mr KK to put a backing on the 1kea open shelf unit so stuff doesn’t fall out the back.
Toscos wrangling. Then ran down into town to send back some luggage I bought for the Spanish trip I didn’t need (refund landed on my CC c. 3 hours later 😊), went to the library for new books, the cheapy shop for brackets for the potting shed (didn’t find any), and a local art exhibition which was pretty good. I treated myself to an acrylic that will cheer me in winter from my monthly pocket moneyIt doesn’t show very well in this image but there is a real glow to this image, you can ‘feel’ the light in it 😊🌞 When I asked the lady on the desk if I could buy a painting and she asked which one, I turned out that she was the artist 😊 Made her really happy how much and why I loved it ❤️
Started the next Shardlake novel - I’m a bit gripped by them atm. 😊 250 pages into it now.
Dosed off for a bit on the sofa … 😂 Whoops.
Then had an hour or so in the garden. Enjoyed doing some ‘editing’ around the big pond to give clear views of things that are still looking good or will colour up well over the coming months. Got to 12K steps across the day 😊💪
Mr KK wanted moules et frites for dinner this evening so I had a kind of salad alongside it that I have not tried before, but worked pretty well. One to repeat. Two new techniques - the whipped feta and the salad ‘method’. 👏
Overall a good day 😊

I love that painting. It is similar in style to an artist locally, I have a couple of her postcards (because I am not buying pictures for so many reasons.)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
I like the picture and can see it bringing joy throughout the dark winter days.
The salad looks delicious, please can you let me know which book it is from? I would like to find a copy. Looking at the notes I think I'm going to also add spinach or rocket as well as adding the beetroot probably in addition to the carrot.

This one
I bought it because I needed to eat more protein. As you can see from the cover it isn’t wholly veggie, but there are enough that are and others that I can adapt.

Thanks @KajiKita I've requested it from the library to have a browse through first, if I will make enough of the recipes, I will buy a copy.

I knew that cookbook author name rang a bell - he's done books on cutting out UPF's too hasn't he?
I came across an article he authored earlier on this year, and looked around his blog etc. I was pleased to learn from him, that I was on the right track with what DH eats weekly - well, with the exception of oily fish, but as DH has never really liked fish, I'm on to a non-starter with that anyway. Plus i can't lead by example, as i don't really eat fish much either. I did make myself when I was pregnant, but the habit didn't stick, unfortunately ☹️
