Busy but positive day ๐
Mr KK put his washing on first thing so we could take advantage of an outdoor drying day - tomorrowโs forecast has steadily been becoming wetter and wetter โฆ All folded and put away ๐
Toscoโs delivery wrangled. That led to a clean out and rationalisation of the fridge.
Made a batch of two bean and sage soup ๐ (Not my sage sadly - my new plant seems to be really struggling to get going โฆ ๐คทโโ๏ธ).
Went out to meet my friend for lunch. We met at a craft centre and she managed to find a couple of Christmas presents. I didnโt but it helped clarify what I donโt want to get for people.
Unpacked and segregated various delivery boxes. Booked a tip run for tomorrow.
Cleared and lightly mulched another corner of a veg bed. Got all the broad beans in that I sowed three weeks ago. ๐ค For them ๐Picked some flowers from my garden ๐
Picked some parsley for tonightโs curry salad and I found yet MORE buried shallots โฆ! ๐๐ We will have one of those in the curry salad too ๐
10K steps just completed. ๐

What a pleasant and productive Saturday, especially since you've got back from tiring travel.
Beautiful flowers ๐

4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)Original End Date - Sept 2041 *** New projection - Jun 2040 (reduced by 1 years & 3 month)4 -
Thanks @PennysIntoPounds and @rtandon27 ๐ They are on the dining room table, making me smile. โค๏ธ
Been another positive day here:
- Did some work for work which is critical for the remote assessment tomorrow. I didn't spend hours on it and it's not finished but it is a useful beginning for further discussion with the assessor.
- Cleaned the bathroom and loo. Even the heated towel rail got dusted! ๐
- Been to the gym. Ran through the new programme I was given last week and managed it all and actually increased the time a bit (30 seconds, don't get too excited! ๐) on the cross trainer and the weight on the leg press ๐ช
- Washed and dried towels. Boring but necessary.
- Done 4 small surveys. I seem to be qualifying for a few more again these days.
- Tip run, which has cleared an amazing amount of space in the conservatory considering what I took was all in one pile. Happy with this ๐
- YNAB updates โฆ. <shudder> โฆ. the less said about this the better! I have been enjoying myself far too much this month! But at least I know where I am โฆ ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Ran through some mortgage OP etc stats:
We have finally broken through the ยฃ20K milestone for OPs at ยฃ20,180 and I (roughly!) estimate that we have saved ourselves c. ยฃ10K of interest by paying these OPs.
If I take our standard monthly payment as the base line (that therefore includes a reduction in capital and a monthly interest value), I think I am right in saying we have reduced the term by c. 17 months. Still not as much as I want but slowly, slowly getting there.
Overall we have paid off 33% of the ยฃ315,995 we borrowed 6 years ago next month.
Note to self: Ring C00p and find out what the latest minimum monthly payment would be, so I can recalculate our 'auto' OP.
Oh and in case all of the above looks far too sensible and virtuous โฆ. there has also been novel reading, knitting (getting slower as the rows are getting wi-i-i-ider! ๐) and I have a 2 piece pack of B00ja B00ja chocolates for dessert after dinner, which Mr KK is cooking ๐โค๏ธKK

Don't forget that the underlying princple of YNAB is spending well rather than always saving so if enjoyment was needed this month then it was money well spent!

Love the garden flowers!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
I donโt regret a second of what I did this month! ๐ Just the ยฃยฃ amount that went out IN ONE MONTH to do them โฆ ๐ I think I need a bigger โfunโ budget. What I assume I need and therefore budget for, I suspect hasnโt kept pace with inflation or what I want to do.
