Hi 😊
The ‘gardening dresses’ probably sounds posher than it actually is! 😊 Years ago (3? 4?) I suddenly discovered that wh1te stuff dresses are wearable for me, my shape. I bought 5 of them in all different fabrics. The two that I liked the fabric of least became garden dresses, or dresses for gardening in and getting scruffy in 😊 I have one to wear and one to wash.
The chocolate chia seed pudding was okaaaaay … but not amazing. I think the ratio of liquid to seeds wasn’t quite right and it set quite ‘solidly’ which was a bit off putting … 😉 It tasted okay though 😊 I thunk it I repeat it I will mix something else in like oats or yogurt to cut the texture a bit … 🤔
I did an English degree, many, many years ago and learned the art of reading very quickly. Kinda useful when starting to rummage through contracts or big reports etc. Sometimes it starts to kick in a bit if I’m reading a book I’m really enjoying or conversely want to get over and done with! 😂
Give that blind and windowsill hell from me! 😉💪😊

In other news, I casually asked my ex assistant how he was as we walked out of work at the end of the day today. Got an absolute vent download at me about the boss he has gone back to! He’s not happy … oh dear … 😳
Work is very worky atm, but I seem to have got over the worst of my funk from last week and am managing to make some progress. I won’t share anything specific as it will make me think of it all … 😉
Giving the gym a rest this week as I am bone tired. I don’t see to be recovering well from it as I used to. I’m getting stronger and fitter but it’s just the recovery issue.
Am in a back and forth with baby - liss about trying to buy the correct charger for a trimmer. It didn’t come with one! 🙄 I goggled and tried to determine which one I needed but when it arrived it didn’t fit … sigh … I have now disassembled the trimmer to find the batch code and shared a photo of that - apparently that determines what charger I need 🤷♀️ I gather I can also return the previous incorrect one for a refund, which is a slight PITA but better than having it lurking uselessly about the place. 😉Got a colleague, a young one 😉 to show me how to link up and activate my new ear buds this morning, as I genuinely didn’t have a clue and they don’t come with much in the way of instructions.
My mother liked her birthday presents apparently but when I rang her all she wanted to talk about was how awful the weather was and how it was going to be horrific for year after year. It made me realise something about her. She used to complain bitterly that my grandmother was always very gloomy and depressing when my mother made her weekly duty call. The way she was ‘driving me’ in the conversation on Monday makes me wonder if she did the same to my grandma and others she complains about being depressing to talk to as well …KK

Just tell your mum she's turning into her mother. Works with mine 🤣

I was horrified to say something today that sounded just like my mother. Eek.

Th interesting thing is that I DON'T think grandma (mum's mum) was like that, at all! I remember her as being fiercely spirited, determined, positive, upbeat and focused. I think this negativity is all my mum …
But to respond to @beanielou, yup I do the 'OMG, that's my mum speaking from my mouth' at times - absolute cringe! 🤣KK

Had a really tough day today. Told again that I had caused the risk on the machine that someone was injured on a week or so ago (I haven’t) and then the same person suggested he use the machine to process some incomplete parts when I wasn’t around, ha ha ha ha … I had had about enough by then, so reminded him that I was the one who would be at risk of losing their job or being prosecuted if anyone else got injured on that machine! (Kind of true, a real risk for me, even if small). He brushed it off and then, after the meeting, told the Technical Manager that it probably was too dodgy and he wouldn’t run it … Said sweet naff all to me though …! 🙄
I’m afraid it all got too much and I ended up in tears in my office where the Technical Manager found me. He was really kind and constructive and did make me feel appreciated. But blimey, I’m so tired from it … RIDDOR report goes off today and I guess we will see over the next two weeks if the HSE turn up… (I really, really hope not …)
Managed to wrap up the unwanted charger so can return that tomorrow.
And as a distraction from work…
My new knitting project is bringing me pleasure. Just a really simple repeat pattern, but I just love the yarn 🤩

Can you find some way of disconnecting/disabling the relevant machine so that no one can 'forget' and use it without your involvement?

Theoretically that has already been done - it’s locked off. But padlocks can be cut …

Presumably that would be gross misconduct and instant dismissal?
