I managed to get some things done and got to my meeting this afternoon although I think I may have slept through much of it. I had an armchair in a corner off to the side so hope no-one noticed. Lovely couple came to buy the Kallax unit - they had asked if they could dismantle it here and I was fine with that. Late DH had put it together very well and it took them nearly an hour. £50 which was good as it must be 20 years old if not more. Sox supervised them working occasionally running between their legs to see if he could trip them up. They apparently always sell quickly and they had been looking out for one for lady's craft room. Its just a bit big for me (16 sections) and it would spoil out in the unheated garage. I changed the cattery booking for April and the faulty lamp. I bought some stamps and bread and milk but otherwise I was very good. Received some interest on a one year account which finished today - everything helps. A friend returned £5 I had totally forgotten about (I paid at a meeting when they were short of change) and that went into the 1p challenge pot.

Not having a great week TBH.My health is playing up again.Having to organise GP, DNs and multiple disciplinary teams for mum who has succumbed to dementia at the grand age of 103. It’s breaking my heart, I’m losing her a piece at a time. Sadly, she lives quite a way from me on the mainland. I’ve got carers going in but she isn’t knowing who they are or where she is love her. She’s really gone downhill in the last 6 months but markedly so since Christmas. Many years ago, I was part of a team who set up the home care programme for the entire UK and it kills me now to see what’s happened to it. So, even though I have dealt with elder mental infirmity most of my working life, it’s still a toughie when it’s your own mum. Hey ho, I guess that’s life.
Did manage to clear the landing today. Totes have been rehomed and DHs walking sticks, he collects as well as uses, have been found a new place to live. Got rid of a ton of cardboard boxes again, I swear I do not know where they are all coming from. Also got rid of an over bath seat which has been takin* up space since we had the new side opening bath installed.Tomorrow is a new day and I shall look forward to it with hope and optimism.
Have a good evening all, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Would it be possible for one or more of those on here to reregister under new names and not leave a trail tying them to their last used name to kept ex's and current OH from tracking them down?22

Thank you for your wise words! Whilst I wish it on nobody it is nice to hear from someone who understands and you give great advice. I will think about seeking support, I’m actually meeting drug and alcohol services for work as I work in A&E so maybe I’ll ask their advice. He hasn’t engaged in any drug support yet but is under MH team we will see how things pan out.MadamMim2013 said:
My heart goes out to you.. I’m so sorry your son is suffering and as a consequence you too.jivjules1 said:Went for a lovely walk today- Small declutter 15 minutes on the living room surfaces mainly tidying, got rid of some old flowers a dead plant and several bits of rubbish. Sold a coat on vinted I’m getting quite motivated by selling the vinted stuff! @MadamMim2013 good news about your DS my DS1 has been having MH problems for the last yr or 2 and smoking, he ended up sectioned a couple of months ago with mania and psychosis he was supposed to be recovering at home but has gone back to his uni house where they all smoke and is smoking again. I’ve said I’m not paying his rent next year because that house is full of weed and it’s not good for him very difficult to know if that is the right decision and very worried but I just feel like I’m fuelling his habit - parenthood doesn’t really get easier as they grow up! Glad yours is doing well, well done to you and him!
Iit is soul destroying working out the best way to deal with them, the emotions, your emotions and everything & everyone else besides..
Personally, I think you are correct in not paying for his rent next year, responsibility needs to be taken by him for his choices.. Although he will source weed, if wanting to no matter where he is 😔
The break from the others influence may help him though.. I was forever telling my son that those people really don’t give a rats posterior about you or if it fluffs up your life, it’s all sh*ts n giggles, till it’s not, then they vanish!
I’m sure you know exactly what I mean..
I personally feel that a massive amount of the mental health issues and personality changes that tend to occur is from them consuming the unknown chemicals that are used on the plants to force a grow.. Weed today is nothing like it was in the 60’s/70’s.. it’s been corrupted, like everything else, simply to make more money 😡My son has learnt that we will not enable his habit even if he deems refusal (for whatever) unfair, we do support good choices as much as possible and I’ve learnt that shame/blame just made it worse.
When he stumbles support is given yet boundaries remain firm, it’s what saved me from breaking.
I did source support and counselling from my local drugs and alcohol support services, they were absolutely amazing, I has no idea that they would support me, as a parent who’s suffering with my son’s addiction.
Honestly, look up your local support network.. they can help signpost you to services as a parent/family, as you are all suffering too.
I have hope your son will make those better decisions that’ll help him create a prosperous future. 💗21 -
Yorkie1 - Been going through paperwork from the hospital - Mr F was never the same after his mental breakdown and forced closure of the business. He came out of hospital/rehab after 3 months using a stick. Mr F had worked from home for all of his working life.
Brie - I am telling people - no black or dark colours at Mr F's celebration Of Life.
Builder came back to fix the leak - he left telling me not to use the sink for 24 hours to let whatever he had used set. I went in there - it is leaking! He will be back again. I have asked him to make a gate for the side alley - I have heard he is very good at carpentry - must be better than he is at plumbing!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Tried this already. Found me under this name so must have been reading a lot of diaries. I was very careful as well.weenancyinAmerica said:Would it be possible for one or more of those on here to reregister under new names and not leave a trail tying them to their last used name to kept ex's and current OH from tracking them down?
Thank you for suggesting it though. If he put as much effort into his daughter as he does tracking what I am doing, he would be the perfect father.September 2017 Debt = £25330

@SuzieSue sending hugs sounds heartbreaking, I work in health and see some of the challenges of social care - totally not the same as when it’s a loved one, seems you have to fight for everything nowadays.Decluttering minimal today had some work stuff on and went on a walk with a friend who then lost her car key so we had to completely retrace our steps to look for it, no key found but 20,000 steps nailed - good for the bid to get back to some exercise this week!
2 parcels sent and another item listed. Will try and do a bit more tomorrow - pleased that there’s some progress but also a bit daunted at how much there is to do!19 -
Thankyou Green_hopeful - you reminded me that I hadn't even looked in the drawer full of baking trays and tins. Only three needed throwing away but the drawer is now tidy and I know what is in there. Baby steps.19
