Monday is another bright sunny day but a lot cooler with a high of 22°C (feeling 3° cooler due to E wind) & low of 12°C We were entertained by the blue tits, long tailed tits & sparrows on the fat cake feeder & a robin turned up today hopping about on the lawn. Read a couple of magazines & watched TV. Dinner was pizza or beef in gravy, mash & peas. Wudupa.

Hello all,
Hugs to those who need them.
Had a terrible flood on Sunday night. Waterfall for over an hour out of light fittings in the room and hallway - the pipe that has been leaking upstairs burst. Me and the guy directly above me completely flooded.
My bed is in the back garden, completely ruined.
Council had guys in who said that the bathroom and bedroom ceiling will probably have to come down, the lights have all bee removed and disconnected in those rooms. Need to let the place dry out and they'll be back to sort them out.
Such a faff honestly.

What a nightmare situation for you.
Seems like this could have been avoided if action had been taken when you first reported the leak to them.
Sending hugs - hoping everything will be fixed very promptly.

Yep it really is.
Absolutely the first, second or third time - they didn't want to investigate because I'm an owner and the upstairs who were flooding me weren't getting any water in.
I'm waiting on a call, the head of maintenance has now gone off sick.
Probably sick of dealing with us cos that's 3 houses now affected.

Morning all.
My daughter who has been on holiday in St Lucia had her flight home cancelled. The rearranged flight was delayed but she should be home this afternoon.
My voice is a lot better today.
I used vinegar on my kitchen sink - basket strainer - still had some stubborn tea marks so ended up using bleach and it is sparkling now.
I will do upkeep on the porch then deep clean my cloakroom.
I have a SA uniform blouse to wash.
After that it is back to the decluttering.

@Miss_BaLu please contact your insurers, they should be dealing with this for you.

Frog swallowed or major declutter?? I finally was able to post the application for an annuity - it's only taken me 3+ years since retiring. Due to the delay in posting this (should have been sent 2 months back) I think it will mean they need to requote so nothing is going to get actioned soon but hopefully the next round will be easier for me to deal with.
Nearly stumbled when I saw they wanted me to provide my passport or driving licence. Going off on a jolly next week driving to Brussels so can't let go of either. Then I saw they were ok to have a certified copy so I rang them to enquire how to do that if I don't know anyone working in any of the "professions" listed, would they accept one certified by the post office. The lovely woman started taking me through security (I wondered why if I wasn't asking a question about my case) and then announced gleefully that no ID was required so I just needed to send the inch high pile of paper. Thankfully they had provided a suitable business reply envelope so I didn't have to pay to send it all off to them.
Got home and cleared out the folder of deleted emails including a few from about 20 years back. I don't think the version of my finances nor a copy of my cv from then is relevant any longer.

@Miss_BaLu definitely time for a call to your insurers. This is one of the reasons we have insurance- paying other people to do the running around in the event of a claim.
