The pruning is done. The bush is a shadow of its former self. Three small builders' bags filled (one with some dead conifer branches that were in the way of the washing line, as I had space in the final bag) and contents decluttered to the household recycling site along with the substantial cardboard boxes that the TV soundbar came in.

@vulpix the crochet blankets will be very much appreciated again thank you. I usually say the beginning of November as it gives me chance to get them over to the hub before the lorry comes to pick up all of the shoeboxes. I have to have surgery at some point, if I’m in hospital it will give DD chance to drop any remaining items off at the hub as I’m still working on my shoeboxes aswell!

Besides items going into shoeboxes I have also started to prepare a box of presents for my cousin and get things out earlier rather than later, but I’m very slow doing it.

*We found a packet of caramel eggs from 2018 in the cupboard, they were in a right state-binned

*Very happy as DD took items x 3 from her bedroom to her house

*V parcels x 4 to send

*Tennis racket ready to go to recycling centre

*A broken award-recycling

*A sentimental family heirloom given to my DD today for safe keeping so I know she has it

Total decluttered so far is,

Managed to do a bit of gardening whilst Grandsons were at other Nana's 70 th birthday party. Emptied out my bee hive composter and spread the good compost onto the garden. I put the rest back with layers of cardboard and watered each layer well as it was really dry and not doing much. Then dug a large patch that I want to cover with grass seed and put the weeds and rubbish on top of compost bin. I have a lot of composting bags still to spread on garden but that's for another day. Boys back now and all tucked up in bed. 😊

Garden update. Thanks to DS’ help patio is now sorted as is base under tool cabinet. I did mostly chopping & tidying. This morning - church followed by lunch with a friend. Followed by more chopping once I got home. Tomorrow I have one client so time to do more in the garden - but not before I have caught up on work admin - that can has been kicked as far down the road as it will go. Love to all x

Car is due a service and MOT tomorrow and at least one new tyre 🫣 looking for the service book I. The car folder I found four years worth of car insurance (however not the current one) and paperwork from last car just not the service book! Old paper has been added to shredding pile and service book found with another pile of paperwork which I'll sort one evening.

Five paperbacks taken to Petworth and three brought home, unfortunately three of the books taken in were from my sister, so this week I lost.

All the stuff from the car is in two bags in the dining room as they'll clean inside and out tomorrow, it does not all need to go back tomorrow evening and will be sorted tomorrow.

I was speaking to my neighbour's daughter when sorting the car and she was saying they had to hire storage space whilst the landlord painted their two bedroom her husband wasn't mused but it seems he likes aon line shop! I suggested decluttering before bringing it back into the house.

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Sunday is another lovely sunny day with a high of 24°C feeling 1° warmer due to a NNE wind & a low of 12°C Somehow my SkyQ box lost the Wi-Fi signal from the broadband router so DH kindly sorted out 👏 I made good use of being reconnected & have downloaded the 2nd series of Prodigal Son ☺️ The mealworm fat cake in the feeder is proving very popular - 4 long tailed tits & 4 blue tits 😁 with others waiting their turn in the olive tree 🙊 I have been watching Prodigal Son all day. With the cooler weather I decided to cook a full roast dinner - beef, roast potatoes, parsnips & carrots, cabbage, green beans, Yorkshire puddings & DH made gravy. Wudupa.

1419 - 1422 Kitchen detritus, pair of DH’s Sunday pants, 2 beyond repair small tongs - binned

Over the weekend I got rid of a steam cleaner. It lived in the boiler cupboard downstairs around the side of the boiler. It was a small space and not something otherwise useable. I use the other side of the boiler and the door (reusable bags) as the boiler is not central in the cupboard.

It was forgotten in there because it was neatly stored and I never used it. My brain had got used to it there. I finally remembered it and got rid of it thinking it won’t make a difference as it’s not something that annoys me or is in the way, but I don’t use it so at least it can go to someone who does use it.

Everytime I’ve opened that cupboard since, I’m shocked at how empty and nice it looks and remember it’s because I got rid of the unused steam cleaner.

I guess the moral of the story is that you do get used to the stuff and don’t see it anymore and even if it’s neatly stored and not in the way, it does make a big difference to get rid of the stuff you don’t use anymore. I really need to consider that when I look at my just in case items, including the stash of gift wrap and gift bags.

Haven't had much ability to declutter whilst away but have achieved the following

Have decluttered the mini bar four times and got it restocked.

Used up a lot of toiletries which will not be returning in my suitcase

DD has pool toys, some broken and will be binned. Pool float also popped and whilst rescued by water proof plasters, will not make the suitcase despite DD's protests.

Hi all, sorry it's been a week since I last posted, don't know where the time goes 😁.

I have had some wins, the couch was completely dismantled and is now stored on the landing. I chauffeured OH on Monday and we were out for hours as we went to the sm as well as the hospital and OH spent hours browsing long after I had finished shopping 😂. I have continued clearing dust and rubble from the conservatory, I have even managed to clean some of the windows.

The man with the damp meter came and checked everything. I was right some of the plaster in the conservatory will need to be replaced. Initially he was saying it was the least of my problems but eventually agreed with me that I might as well have it sorted now while I already have the mess and more important for me while I am on the builder's radar 😂. The only thing he suggested was a tiny bit of pointing and replacing a very old pipe that might be beginning to corrode. He is going to speak to the builder. I am contemplating starting the plaster removal myself as I am feeling the need to make some progress somewhere with this project 😂.

Various bins have been emptied, a couple of bags of magazines have been discovered, browsed and recycled, a couple of sessions of ironing now it is cool enough to stand having the iron on, 800 MB of photos deleted from my phone, 200 emails permanently deleted, 2 bathroom overstock uu, 2 rags binned and a notebook finished and recycled. A long session in the garden and the rose has gone although not convinced it won't reappear next year 😂 and the footy is back 😂. I have posted off my nephew's birthday present to my sister's house as he is still technically homeless though I understand he was at the Oval having a 2 day booze up with some friends for his birthday at the weekend 😂. My niece and her hubby are in this neck of the woods next weekend doing a house sit and I am busy planning some things to do with them which will be lovely.

@QueenJess I have been watching the space maker for ages and I think she is great. Very non judgemental and shows the reality of how long it takes to do things. Also I like that she says you are making space for the things that are important to you and doesn't expect everyone to be a minimalist. Homes are where people live not show houses.

@Vulpix I would love a clinically clean house, or even a reasonably clean house but atm I am settling for clinically clean bathrooms while doing daily battle with the dust 😂.

Today I have an appointment at the opticians but I will try to get something done before I go
