Yorkie1, hahaha that bush has certainly had a haircut. Trouble is it does them good. All the lilac we cut down is sprouting with renewed vigour.

Thank you happy Kitties. I will get on it. I haven't had the spare time this year as previously but now it's getting cooler at night (thank goodness) I can up production. I have concentrated on adult hats, scarves and knee blankets. My Mum is in a well worn groove and has done kids stuff and some adult hats. I think it's a good idea to pass family stuff on. I have given my kids stuff and my Mum has given me stuff too. I have my Nana's engagement ring. I don't wear it much though as I haven't got the hands for rings sadly. I have got hands but not pretty ones iyswim. Hahahaha.

Well everyone is cracking on and also gardening. To continue the theme this afternoon is earmarked for us to re jig the sheds. We only have 2 small sheds now. I have some banana boxes with wall hanging garden stuff which I would like to put up. I also need to rehome the contents of the sentry box. I would love to get a path unearthed that goes down some steps onto an overgrown patio behind the larger shed. I can then get at the plants that I want to transplant without ripping myself to shreds on an out of control rose. We only have today and tomorrow dry. From then on rain for 2 weeks,bliss.

Liverpool Anne, a clean bathroom is a fantasy of mine. We have had 2 big holes drilled in the bathroom wall for months and months. They are stuffed but everything always has a fine layer of grit. The bathroom fitter should have come in April. He assures us it will happen soon. Plumbers apparently move in mysterious ways.

Mr V is at the wound clinic this afternoon . Physiotherapy afterwards will be prescribed by me, chain saw and drilling walls on the cards.

I plan a day indoors. Got up late.

The house smelt of vinegar when I came downstairs. I had put kitchen roll soaked in vinegar around the base of the kitchen tap and the cloakroom one -. all limescale removed.

I have moved pillows and cushion inserts from the ROD. They are now tidily packed in the bottom of the wardrobe in the new lounge. I also moved a piece of duvet inner plus cushions in covers that I made for Mr F and a pack of Heat N Bond.

I did myself a list of jobs with time allotted - why does it always take longer than I planned to spend on a job?

I've removed the temporary fruit cage over the redcurrant bush and put all the bits back in storage in the garage (it's an old frame for a cheap 'glass' house that completely deconstructs into metal sticks and plastic connectors). Half the redcurrant bush had died - I don't know why - and is now in the green waste bin.

I've decided I don't like the taste and texture of the thornless blackberry I bought at Ald*'s last year and will dig it up and put it out front with a 'free' sign.

We have removed our swing set and have taken the metal bits to dd1's boyfriend's parents, who are collecting metal to take to a buyer. They are constantly hosting dd1 and taking her everywhere with them; I'm very grateful, but with our current financial situation we can't match that (besides, husband does not know she has a bf :)). This is a way to do something back.

Divorce prep is proceeding slowly, gathering all paperwork and adding to my list of questions and things-to-do to safeguard dds' and my financial future. Husband and I had a rather loud (for us) discussion over the telephone about money, where had confessed that the €1,000 I was counting on getting repaid from a friend, had been diverted to fund something in his homecountry. He was at his mistress' during this discussion, so I didn't feel bad at all keeping him on the phone for an hour :)

The organisation I work for will stop in 2030; through our organisation a certain group of people can receive a subsidy and help in certain situations. The calculations before the organisation was founded were incorrect, so the number of people entitled to help and subsidy was much less, and instead of helping 1,000, we have less than 300….. the government has ordered us to stop in 2030, with a definite closing in 2032. I'll be 58 in 2030, which is a rotten age to look for a new job, so I'm contemplating what to do. I think I would enjoy something international again.

Hi everyone

I've been tackling my scruffy garden and have been pulling up weeds/grass between the paving slabs on the patio and my driveway. I'm trying to be methodical but it's going to take a few attempts as I have a bad back so can only manage about 45 minutes at one go. It's nice to see the improvement ☺️

While sitting down I decided to sort out one bag from the garage of doom - inside I found a notebook from a meeting I attended as part of my self employment role - the meeting was in July 2016 - and a file of credit card statements from 2011!! I also found a few items to put in the CS bag.

Thinking of everyone who is going through a difficult time 💕.

The morning started a little abruptly with the boiler deciding that hot water was optional for showers.

The condensate pipe had been gurgling at me yesterday evening in a way that suggested some pipe unblocker down the kitchen sink would have been prudent several weeks back….

Anyway one text to the plumber (who’s off sick after surgery for tennis elbow) this morning and his former apprentice and now junior plumber turned up on my doorstep before lunch hugging his wet vac. 15 mins later and problem solved and no quibbles over my amateur diagnostics and checking of the error code.

Thoughts and good wishes are with all who’ve been suffering one way or another.

I’ve not achieved much in the last week or so, apart from mud-wrestling an old frog. Bits of gardening cutting back done when my beautifully sunny garden was cool enough. And watering pots and tubs with watering cans and the help of Puppy-Wuppy who likes to drink from the garden tap while I’m filling them. I’ve loads to do, but lack the energy to do all I want to. And I’m another who finds that everything takes much longer than it should.

P-W and I sat in the garden during the eclipse, and half a dozen of my evening primrose flowers opened early so I enjoyed their scent. I also saw a meteor, just one.

I rather sabotaged myself with the frog, as I had to stay up late (for me 🌛🛌💤 midnight!) to finish it and the paperwork. I’ve always been an early riser (before the birds 🐦‍⬛) so catching up on sleep is slow. I was wiped out for the next couple of days and had to fight my way out of a rather dark place.

I did manage to throw out some newspapers (so useful for catching drips and putting wet things on!).
Also done some mending (decluttered from mending box to drawers!) re-sewed buttons and did the “stitch-in-time” for a seam on a favourite blouse (must be getting on for 40 years old, but still good), sewed up holes in three pairs of Sunday undies, re-sewed two loose hooks on a bra, and took the executive decision to throw away a torn dog toy as there wasn’t enough fabric to mend it - Justin has the squeakers, the filling went into the bin (in spite of Justin’s pleas) and the fabric into the fabric recycling bag.

I’ve had one of those days where I feel like all I’ve done is walk in never ending circles and got nowhere.

I did manage to get the whites on the line…one line was full with 16 tea towels! All dried and indoors now. Brought ours and DFriend bins back in after the nice bin men emptied them. Usual morning chores plus a clear out of yucky salad from the fridge, seems to last about 2 days. Got new jacket delivered for DH which I’ve organised to be returned as it swamps him, and that’s not easy. My DH has a 54” chest so jackets going back for a smaller size, he was chuffed 😁
Laptop and printer are no longer speaking although, weirdly, laptop is recognising the scanner which is part of the printer but not the actual printer itself. I will deal with that tomorrow.
Dinner was totally freezer again.

Brother and family will be spending Christmas near me here in the UK (they are usually in Belgium).

That gives me a definite target to be able to see the floors in all rooms … !

Evening all. Not much to report but managed short gardening sessions yesterday and today. Just hope the sore rear end is going to ease soon. I have decluttered DGCs just for one night and money to replace a tablet for DGS4. He has always had second hand ones and never complained but he understands this new one is an early Christmas present so there won't be another big present at Christmas. I am storing up frogs (there seem to be several collective names for frogs - an army or a colony but I rather like the alternative of a chorus) - will need to do those although I have a visitor coming tomorrow. I do have some time before the next agenda and papers need to be sent out so not stressing. Will have to manage visitor (the friend I holiday with) around the DGCs.

DD is sending pictures of Kosice in Slovakia where she is on a business trip - looks like a lovely old city and food looks yummy. I did buy some new inexpensive bedcovers for bedroom 2 and some autumn plants.

816/7 Two jigsaws in recycling - I won't pass them on when there are pieces missing

I deep cleaned the porch.

I had a busy day decluttering stuff from the ROD.

Granddaughter came here with a top that has pulls in it - the one I did previously but she put it in a wash with a bra!

Granddaughter put together my delivered steam mop so I tried it out. Very pleased with it.

My porch is filling up with donations.
