I have just -by the skin of my teeth - completed day 22 of the minimalist game - 253 items so far this month.

DS headed off to a festival this morning - he is away until Monday - I'm pleased to have a few days to myself. After work today I started power-washing the decking - I have been kicking this task up the road for weeks and it was only the fact that there's a hose-pipe ban from tomorrow that kicked me into action. Sadly the power-washer conked out after 20 mins ! I've only had it 16 months and thought - typical just outside the guarantee period - then remembered that Argos have a two year guarantee - so here's hoping they can fix or replace it. 🤞

Thanks to my neighbours letting me use their bins while they were away I managed to get rid of 2 bins of green waste 🤩

1. Daily To Do List - written the night before
2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Wednesday is another warm but cloudy day with a forecast high of 26°C (feeling 1° cooler due to a NNW wind) & a low of 15°C. DH & DSis left for dentist appointments at 12:00. Travelling a new route - bus, Elizabeth Line & 2 stops on the overground section of the Central Line. DH phoned me @ 13 :10 - a very pleasant & cool journey but 50 minutes early for their appointments. They decided to have a drink in the local pub 😊 DH no treatment but DSis has an hour long appointment with the hygienist next week. Just as good a journey home & indoors by 15:45. I went out 14:15 & got back at 15:25 Caught the bus to CW - everything ticked off my list - bank for cash, M&S for potatoes & dessert treats - a trifle & a lemon cheesecake, Bo*ts for floss brushes & shampoo & posted cards & letters on the walk to the bus stop. When I got home I sorted out my accounts, added August 1p Challenge monies to my Terramundi pot  & started writing August’s birthday cards. A treat for dinner - rump steak with dauphinois potatoes & garlicky green beans 😋 Wudupa

1219 - 1223 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 2 newspapers, booklets - recycled 

1224 - 1225 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned 

More excellent work in the garden vulpix 👏 Good luck decluttering & tidying in the dining room 🍀 Yikes to MrV’s painful bruise 😣 Just wondering if there is some sort of topical treatment to speed the bruise away 🤔 Hope you have a lovely couple of days in Oxfordshire ☺️ are you babysitting?

So instead of layering the lasagne you get your pasta sheets and make it into a cross shape, then you add cream cheese on the bottom then mince then fold them, add half a sheet on top more cream cheese and then cheese! It's a less messier way I guess, tasty too! My OH didnt see the point in them 😂

@Soontobeoap - you have everything looking neat and lovely outside. The deck looks great and a very inviting place to sit and enjoy a drink. Good luck with getting ready for visitors.

We did a tip run yesterday and also dropped some things off at the secondhand store. It was on our way to the dentist. There was more that we should have taken but we ended up getting ready to leave in a rush due to a bad traffic report. It had cleared so we ended up being early. Money decluttered. I need to be more proactive about the tip runs as Mr MV seems to ignore piles of things that are ready to go and yet takes things that I wasn’t expecting. Yesterday, I was surprised to see a cupboard being dumped that I have been intending to repaint, and I had told him. It was expensive when we bought it many years ago but that is now one job off my to do list I suppose. He seems to have a very high tolerance for his own (extensive) clutter but not for my odd bits!

@Liverpool_Anne - you are obviously a very lovely friend to have. I think things were bound to be different with B as presumably his mum is really the only person to be completely au fait with all his behaviour. She must have benefited greatly from the break though. I hope you enjoy the wedding.

@vulpix - poor Mr V it must be upsetting to be so badly bruised. Also for you to see it 💐

@BlueJ94 I like the idea of the lasagne parcels as they could be quite practical for batch cooking to go into the freezer. A treat is essential every now and then 😊
