Hi all, I have been awake since 5 this morning thanks to a small flock of seagulls which have taken up residence in the local area. They are so noisy 😂.
I have had a few busyish days fighting the battle with the dust. I have split my time between my bedroom, which has been sorely neglected lately, and the conservatory. I did get to the bag wash and got it all dry on the line so 3LDFPA. Trawl through the lotions and potions resulted in 1 old sunscreen binned and another tube uu. From under the bed a ripped fabric bag binned. The bag contained candles I had completely forgotten about so I am busy using those up, so far 2 uu 😂.
Had a screw come loose on my glasses and the lens fell out. Managed to find the screw but couldn't find the tiny screwdrivers, turns out OH has them 🙄 so wearing an old pair of prescription Sun glasses I had to drive to the opticians to get them fixed 😂.
From the conservatory I have removed 7 bin bags of OH's clothes. They have been put in OH's room. They all need washing as they were covered in dust but they can wait. A ripped bag from the Swedish shop was binned. A pair of old curtains and a sheet used as dust sheets were hung on the line to let the wind blow away some of the dust and then bagged up for washing at some point in the future 😂.
I have deep cleaned the bathroom again, 2 empty bottles recycled
I have had my B12 jab and then had another look under the bed 😂. 2 bags dragged out, old papers recycled and the few left put in a shoe box 😂. Back to the conservatory and 2 boxes sorted and emptied, 1 item into the cs bag the rest either binned or recycled including the cardboard box but the plastic box is waiting to be washed out today and will be reused. Various bins emptied as required. I also had to do a running repair on my little computer table that required an allen key which I couldn't find so had to go to the diy shop and purchased a set as well as a set of small screwdrivers 😂.
I have also been watching the footy and have done a bit of crochet but waiting for the B12 jab was taking it's toll 😁
Right off to get my 3rd cuppa and have a think about what to do first.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
Adding 33 to my numbers 😁
Take care everyone

The party went really well despite the torrential rain just before people arrived. We had a gazebo fiasco. I have my own gazebo but my mother in law had one as well. So I checked it had all its parts before the party. We were not expecting the rain so when it started spitting we decided to put up the gazebos. We got the inherited one up and it became apparent it wasn’t the right cover. After quite a bit of faffing we chucked that one back in the bag and rushed to get mine up. I moved the chairs and cushions under the gazebo and umbrellas just before the heavens opened. Fortunately nearly everything was ok.
We make the chilli sauce in advance and just add beans and cooked chicken on the day. We used 3 celery heads, 12 large onions, 20 carrots, 5 kg of chicken, 16 tins of tomatoes, 20 tins of beans, 1.5 kg of cheese, 8 baguettes, 14 bags of corn chips. Nearly everything went. I got a blister from too much chopping 😀
We bought the cake from M&S which was very nice and then got 11 pizzas delivered for the people still these in the evening.
I can’t imagine how much booze went but we had a 72 pint cask of pale ale and a 25 bottle drum of prosecco. Plus endless bottles of beer and wine.
Mostly tidied up in the night so not too much to do today.
I suspect 80 to 90 people came in the end.

Sunday was bright & sunny with clear blue skies at 8:00 but did cloud over by 09:30. I had a fairly good night’s sleep waking at 04:00 & 07:00 We finished most of the packing before going down to breakfast. Sausage, bacon, egg, tatie scone, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans, black pudding & haggis, coffee & juice + a slice of toast & marmalade for me. Very tasty 😋 Back to our room for a little rest before packing up the bike & heading to Ballater. There are no landmarks for 2026 but DH is hoping to tick off 8 landmarks from previous years - weather dependent of course 🤞 We should be setting off about 10:00 when hopefully the sun will have made a reappearance.Apologies daisy_1571 😔 DH did actually say “Hairy Coos” in a Scottish accent 😅
I will wish you all a good day & will see you later 👋

DD did go through her drawer of paperwork. I've gone through most of the get rid pile to organise whether it's recycling, bin, scrap paper or my memory box, but still have some left to do. I also spotted the odd thing when we opened the cupboards today to play.
1 - DD odd sock (recycled)
3 - DD pens used up
1 - DD stuff recycled
2 - DD tat (charity bag)
5 - DS toys (charity bag)
1 - packaging reused
105 - DD paperwork recycled
2 - Games we don’t play (Buy Nothing)New total 1,774
Use it up total 463Am feeling a bit better about the house after the massive exodus (mainly from DD's room), but there is definitely more to do. The kitchen cupboards need a good sort and lots of things to use up in there that have been hanging around for ages.

Liverpool_Anne - having been born here at the seaside I am used to seagulls noise. I love seagulls - beautiful birds.
QueenJess - I will revisit my kitchen cupboards when the rest of the house is finished.
Been to Church with bestie. She arrived early for me so came in and sat while I knitted.
I am going to have a cup of tea then do the ironing. I found a bag of clothes in the old office so working through those. I don't remember why they were in a bag.
We took all the donations into the shop when we arrived In Minster - the shop is where the corps used to worship. The shop took £137 on Friday - in 5 hours.

Has anyone seen my mojo?? Not sure why but it's definitely missing at the moment along with the spellchecker on MSE, or is it just me?
General decluttering is continuing - compost bags from the garden, detritus from the house, my expensive Japanese secatuers somewhere 🤷♂️😭etc.. A lot of time is still being decluttered in the garden; it's surprising how long it takes to tie in plants and pinch out shoots along with watering the greenhouse and some of the outside plants.
I've still no update on any work starting on my house and I'm now at the point of not wanting to push it as I have some cat sitting for DS1/DDiL1 and then a very short visit from DS2/DDiL2 who are over from America coming up in the next 3 weeks.
I decluttered a pop-up windbreak/tent that's been on the front drive for a couple of weeks now. It arrived on a rather windy day: I posted on the local FB group and pinned it down on my drive, by the kerb, but no-one came for it, so yesterday I cut off the plastic tent and bin-bagged that then cut the 2 fiberglass rods in half and they are now supporting fleece, (sun shading), that's covering emerging seedlings. 😁
Today though I'm going to ground as I no longer do hot weather - that's my excuse. 🤣
Well done every one and hugs to those who want and love to you all. Dxx
