Morning all.
J has arrived and done a third coat of Timeless on the walls in small ROD. He is going to play paint chicken with the colour on the window wall. Hoping there is enough of Rangwali.
If J finishes early - I will take stuff to the charity shop. I will load my shopping trolley - if I don't go today - it will be tomorrow or Saturday.
I was okay when going off to sleep but was woken in the night by pain. I had taken 60 mg of medication. Didn't feel as drowsy this morning. I will talk to the Dr about this issue when I see her in May.

Morning all. Not much to report in but nice overnight visit from DD as she is in Sheffield today (Nearer to me than her home) - I also acquired DGCs unexpectedly but they are very fond of DD so pleased to see their aunt. We had pork chops and fresh veggies for tea. Hairdressers at lunchtime so I am going to drop off some wood at tip nearby. Mr Sox, who was very cross because DD did his flea and worm treatment last night, left me a lovely but very dead robin in the hall this morning whilst I was doing school run. Not sure if I already counted the car insurance renewal but I got substantial reduction through Martin's 'compare' link. I also chased up £50 Mr A voucher which I am still due from bank swap - helpful response but I have to wait 20 days whilst they chase it up. DD helped me update energy tariff and sort out where I could see some bank messages on app.
Mrs SD - I am sure that as you took PB cheques to pay in that will mean you win another prize tomorrow. DiL has sold the day bed and truckle which I had in bedroom 3. They don't want the mattresses which is good as I will use one on the new bed which comes tomorrow. They are in vgc. Will count when collected. I did some post meeting frogs yesterday - a few more bits to do then some filing and shredding. DD is off on a cruise Saturday which she is looking forward to. She took birthday card for DGD1 with her for later in May. I have written all my May cards ready to post.
431 Microwave pot binned as surface coming off into the food
432 Car insurance sorted and paid for (due when I am away)
433 All holiday stuff sorted and arrangements for travel discussed with my friend
434 Magazine home with DD
435 Nice cat bed which Sox has ignored for over a year taken by DD for friend who volunteers at cat place
436 Committee frogs dealt with and sent out
437 Energy tariff updated
438 Couple of banking issues sorted with help from DD
I need to chase up the joiner again. Once I am back from holiday I will get plasterer to come and do the second part of the hallway. Then I can get it painted and floor laid. I may then take some time off to do garden and recoup finances before tackling lounge and then bathroom.

Thursday is another bright sunny day (with blue skies front & back of the house 😊) with a forecast high of 20°C (feeling 3° cooler due to a brisk E wind) & a low of 10°C. Recycling wheelie bin has not been emptied ☹️ I have a shopping list to write as DH & DSis will be off on their usual sm visit. Then I need to sort out a bag for our trip to France with the motorcycle oldies group - last time we went was 2023 😧 We leave 09:00 tomorrow, head to Channel Tunnel to catch the 11:36 train to Calais then 215 miles to Sedan, NE France. Coming back Sunday. I am sort of looking forward to it but find that the older I get the less I want to go anywhere out of the country 😞 I am sure I will be OK once we set off 😉 The forecast is for temperatures & the chance of rain broadly similar to the U.K. I received a nice letter today - a small increase in my company pension 😊
vulpix, sounds like you have a busy time ahead of you BUT please, please do NOT overdo it 🙏 After all J should have given you a lot more notice as he is working for you not the other way around ☹️ Good luck 🍀
Florenceem, I will keep everything crossed that young J has enough paint for your feature wall 🤞 Sorry to hear that you have had another disturbed night - waking up in pain 😔 I do hope your doctor’s appointment is in very early May 🙏 as this situation has been going on for far too long 😔
GrannyKate, what a lovely evening - DD & DGCs visiting 🥹 Hopefully the DGCs haven’t eaten you out of house & home 😉 You have been busy - quite a few tasks ticked off your To Do list 👏 From you to ERNIE 🤞
The shopping list has been written, so I will post this & make a start on my packing. Hope everyone has a great day whatever you are doing ☺️ See you later 👋

@vulpix I hope Mr V enjoys the football ⚽️ tonight
Been a busy week and done quite a bit.
I went and took a bag of clothes to the charity shop, I did have a look around and saw a dresser but don't really have the room for it. While I was in town I posted 2 parcels that I sold on ebay.
I have took loads of photos, just need to upload them, will try tonight as I can't just watch the football as I get nervous 🫣
DS went to a birthday party on Sunday and I used a old gift bag for thr presents.
I have also done some crafting that I wanted to do for ages and to use something up and I'm quite happy with what I done still lots more to do
Still have loads of buttons to use up
I then made these
This isn't quite finished yet
Hope everyone has a good evening

I know what you mean @Vulpix. You don't really realise how much clutter you have before you start digging around in cupboards. This thread is quite aptly named for me this year. Not only am I trying to redistribute out of the house. I am trying to find a place for everything and to put everything in its place. 🙂
This afternoon I have dusted and sorted a lot of bits and pieces for car boot sale. I have also listed some more items on Wightbay. We probably won't be able to do car boot sale on Monday as we won't be able to get the car near the house when we get back from weekend at sons but there is another one on 25th May so at least I am ready.2 bed drawers cleared out in the process.

Lovely crafting @Deb4 it’s great to be able to creatively use what you have in already.
Another sweet pair of gloves @Florenceem@vulpix - it is going to be action stations in your house and garden!
Happy travels @Mrs_Salad_Dodger and Mr SD, I hope you have a great time meeting up with your friends.
I got most of my laundry done yesterday and out on the line in the sunshine and breeze. That felt like a lovely happy experience. Shopping today, not so much! I don’t really like bringing things in anymore. I needed some new underwear due to going up a size and there was just so much choice that I really struggled. I don’t live close enough to be able to nip back to change things either. I ended up with boring multiples of the same thing. To be honest, I didn’t think that any of the other women there really looked like they were enjoying themselves! Have we gone too far with choice, I wonder? Or perhaps I am just jaded now, as I can dimly remember loving shopping. So, there will now be a sort out of the underwear and I am not going to hang onto the smaller size just in case, or anything clapped out and thinning.
I have got the downstairs vacuumed and the floors washed so the house is feeling a bit fresher again. Let’s not look at the dust 😂@Soontobeoap -Well done 😊I see that you have dusted and have had a very productive day! You are putting me to shame 😄

@diminua ,wow as well as your plants on the window sill it looks as if youve a wonderful green view! I didn't know peloragiums!
Mrs SD have a good time
Washing hung up yesterday and found 2 socks and a tea towel to add to textile pile.
I have a dishtowel which has seen better days so recycling along with 2 socks and a pair of slippers ,I bought a pair when I was away, and of course debating if I keep the old pair for emergencies but have worn new pair so probably old ones for recycling .
Some.paper out as frog moves forward, Tuesday a big day so we'll see what happens.
Decluttered my job today, a.laptop, charger and mobile phone... have to hand pass in another time or I couldn't get out of the building and have another laptop and charger to hand in sometime next week!
I will keep in mind the lovely advice from folks here. A few people in organisations I work with asked if is be interested in work which is nice but said taking time off but may be interested in part time or project work- it may be nice in the autumn/ winter.
Last night mopped floors and cleared out some general small bits of debris. Will do my nos when home as out tonight.
Looking forward to having time to tackle my hiuse and garden and more time to read and remember all that is going on here. Think as @brie may have said I need to rediscover and be reunited with aome items first:)

evening all. I was just in the process of drawing a thick line under all the woefulness of April when my sister rang and told me a cousin of ours has died. What is going on this month? Thank you everyone for kind thoughts and messages, I am grateful. Everything went off really well for mum, both services were just right, the flowers were stunning and I think she would have been chuffed by how many people attended. Afterwards, the funeral director, who has been quite simply amazing, took the flowers from us daughters up to my Nan and grandads grave. Mum would have liked that. My brother decided he would only have a direct cremation and then an ash scattering for the family where we all grew up.
Tomorrow is the 1st of May and it is going to be a glorious month. I’ve decided.
Today, I Decluttered the last of the laundry and boiled in soda crystals a load of dish cloths and tea towels. Then I washed them in the machine, hung on line and all dry. It’s been very breezy here this last few days so the washing has dried a treat. Since last post, I have Decluttered the last of the Easter veg, all now sleeping happily in the freezer. I also made some vegetable stock cubes - now have 5 bags in the freezer. Have also sold quite a lot on Vinted and eBay.
Nice to see everyone is doing so great with all the decorating, gardening and decluttering. After the weekend I shall be back on the horse - prepare to watch my dust! 😂Have a good evening all, sweet dreams xx
