I had a phone call from my youngest daughter. She rolled her ankle - swollen and painful - doing the London marathon at the end of the month.
Three of the medications that I take cause constipation - will have to attempt prunes. Mr F used to eat 5 prunes a day. I did eat some dried apricots this afternoon. I also had an apple.
May pop to Farm Food. on Wednesday and get some of the tinned fruit that is on offer.
Middle daughter is off to The Maldives this week.
I will go to visit family in the midlands when I have finished the house - weather will be warmer then - hopefully. It does tend to be warmer in a city than at the seaside. We get the breeze off the north sea.

@Brie I understand your bin trauma. We have 4 bins and an indoor and outdoor food caddy. Purple bin = landfill (also smaller than your normal wheelie to encourage recycling), brown = garden waste, blue = cardboard and paper, black = all the other recycling including soft plastic. The recycling and landfill are on a three week cycle. The garden is fortnightly on a different day to recycling, the food waste is weekly with the main bins. It’s….complex.
Front garden tidied today before it goes wild and one of our friendly neighbours starts teasing us about it! I’ve dug a self seeded verbena out if the pot the blueberry bush is in. Blow me that verbena was huge and put up a fight. It’s getting replanted tomorrow. Also reclaimed a foot’s depth of patio…..the worms like to do earth works and had shifted enough earth and grass down to cover the concrete. You’d think we’d have noticed before now but with the last couple of years being so busy they’ve been free to do their business. Oh well I always wanted to be an archaeologist! The grass has been used to patch in some bald spots. Hopefully they’ll take but if not at least we’ve tried.
Compost being delivered tomorrow to pot up the plants, hopefully they’ll drop them round the back of the house if I look like a poor weak woman and ask nicely.
The sheds are being sorted tomorrow and hopefully I’ll find the ericaceous compost I think I have to top up the blueberry bush.✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅

Goodness me, we are SO lucky here on the IOW. We have a black bin for non-recycling and a green bin for all recycling. We do also have the option of a smallish food waste bin that goes in the yard and a tiddly kitchen food waste bin. Black bin collected once a fortnight, green bin plus food waste bin plus clear or white bags of extra recycling, any cardboard like big boxes etc collected once a fortnight. So basically today was black bin collection, next Monday is recycling and food waste. Simples! There is an option for a garden waste bin but we don’t have one so I don’t know the colour or timetable for that. I couldn’t cope with a multitude of coloured bins and collections, life’s too short!

@suzeesu2000 my local council is very keen on recycling. On the plus side….soft plastics are recycled!
Who knows what’s going to happen in 2028 when our two tier local authority structure (11 district, borough and county council) changes into 2 or more unitary authorities.

Monday is a bright sunny day with a forecast high of 15°C (feeling 1° cooler due to a light SSE wind) & a low of 4°C. DH went to sm on the motorbike to pick up a couple of bits. I finished knitting the scarf & cleared more programmes from the planner. See pic of matching hat & scarf.
Dinner was cold lamb with fries & baked beans. Wudupa

Dizzycap, lovely post about gardening & wildlife ☺️ So pleased to hear that Babyface is getting better by leaps & bounds 🥹 Excellent work decluttering so many household chores 👏 Nothing wrong with having a nap especially as you have had little sleep over the past month caring for Babyface.
GrannyKate, more excellent decluttering & tidying with DGS4 👏 so I am awarding you each a medal 🏅 🏅 The bud vase is beautiful 😍 upcycling at its very best 🤩 Sox looks a tad grumpy 😾 & also looks like he is inspecting the wall for flaws 🙊
Dizzycap, sorry to hear that Babyface woke you so early 😔 although very impressed at how much you will get done by07:30 🤩 I will keep my fingers crossed that you manage to get a nap 🤞
Florenceem, so pleased to hear that the medication is working & you are managing to have pain free nights 😊 Good news that you have a 4 hour delivery slot rather than the initial 12 hour slot 🥳
GrannyKate, how lovely that DS2 & family are also going to Portugal ☺️ Sox will definitely not be impressed at holidaying in a cattery 😉 After all you won’t be there to wait on him hand & foot 🙊
Good decluttering BlueJ94 👏
Brie, I would have a mild rant as well 😉 Apparently we are supposed to be getting extra recycling bins with no thought as to where people are supposed to keep them 😖
Florenceem, more excellent work by J 👏 He got a lot done in 3 hours 🤩 Hopefully you will get another good night’s sleep 🤞
BlueJ94, hopefully you have created some space in your freezer 🤞 Well done on building the fence - counts as decluttering potential danger 👏 Good luck with your listings 🍀
Dizzycap, pleased to hear that Babyface allowed you to have a nap ☺️ Hopefully just a slight blip in Babyface’s recovery 🤞 Great work getting so much done including the watering 👏
More inroads made into the cheerleading 😊 only half a day behind now. Sleep tight 😴

Im trying to do "project pan" in short its basically using items up until you need to restock or decide you don't like the item enough to restock it.
Ive started buy going through my tea bags as ive loads of weird and wacky flavours, I had French vanilla for breakfast this morning along with cornflakes.
I have a box of cookies that I need to mix and bake thats been in the cupboard for about a year now so im going to bake them to use them. Once ive finished going through my cupboards im then going to get storage containers and organise them.
Im trying to use up the odds and ends of my freezer as we dont really eat much processed chicken etc as we go to the butchers and use fresh chicken and beef. Im going to pop to Sainsbury's on the way home to make Tacos for dinner.
Declutter wise im donating, throwing or binning anything that I have no use for or I wouldn't reach for.
Im also going to start a two weekly cleaning rota for myself so I keep myself on top of the harder items to clean, the oven I will clean every Sunday just so I keep on top of it.
Top tasks for 2026
Declutter as much as possible
Do an activity that I will enjoy
Meal plan consistently
Get back to 10st

MrsSD - lovely knitting - intricate pattern.
I had a phone call at 7.15 to tell me my Ike. delivery time which I already knew - good job I was awake.
Another pain free night - now if I could just not have so many bathroom visits which wake me up - I would be pleased.
J is here - done some sanding and now is painting primer.
Think I will contact the sewing machine place to try and get a time for that delivery.
I left my washing out last night - had to pick items up off the ground this morning - I use an airer.
