Morning all
Happy New Year to you all.

Morning everyone, and I hope 2026 is kind to us all.
My new financial spreadsheets are now ready to go. I need to bake before we have lunch. I must get properly dressed before it turns into afternoon! Rosie might want a walk, if she has recovered from the fireworks. I don't think the local ones went on much past midnight, but we're on a hill so we can see them for miles around.
Will be back later to catch up with the thread. Thank you for giving us the day off, Valli!

Afternoon all, Happy New Year to everyone.
I'm having a relaxing day, so not much is happening except cooking and staying on top of the dishes. Flying will resume properly tomorrow.9 -
Afternoon all, and a very happy new year to all my Flylady friends 🥰. I hope the year treats us all kindly.
I logged on to say that about 30 minutes ago and had 5 pages to catch up on!! So, guilty as charged, Valli 🤭.Our house guests have now left. Bedding is changed and the house is being put back to order. Dw is running but I have taken the sage advice of a fellow Flylady and will not be risking running the wm until tomorrow. Friday (which I believe it will be tomorrow) will be the Day of the Washing Machine in the Fayolle household. I have quickly run the vacuum around the visible bits, need to s&s the bathrooms for my own sanity, and then start dismantling the decorations which are now annoying me.
Budget / admin day will be tomorrow. Hmmmm, budget /admin day MAY be tomorrow, I don’t want to over promise 🤣8 -
Happy new year.Although it's a Bank Holiday I have cleaned and organised one of the kitchen cupboards. It irritated me every time I tried to get something out of it so I figured stop huffing about it and just do it. Hoping that Bank Holiday working earns me double pay 🙃. Or maybe just a guilt free slice of cake?10

Blackcats- the reward is whatever you want but I still recall, in my early flying days, how joyful my reorganised under-the-sink-cupboard made me feel...
I have relisted all my not-yet-sold stuff on ebay and photographed some more. (I was going to call it 'unsold' but have decided to be more positive).
Having had issues closing the bathroom window (which I open A LOT and leave open a lot too) I have been at the mechanism (standing on a stool) with 3-in-1 oil and it's now closing with ease. This little job made it off the Toots list within a short time of going on it!
DD asked me what my next home project is. There's a long 'alcove' in the back bedroom crying out for a fitted, floor-to-ceiling, wardrobe/cupboard... decisions, decisions.

Afternoon all. One washload done and dried indoors. Not quite as cold as yesterday but still chilly and we just had a shower this afternoon but luckily it was rain not a wintry one. The downside is that's made the pavements wet and it might freeze tonight......always something for me to fret about. We had fireworks round about last night but not as many as the last few years. I took the dog out about 7pm just to the green out the front hoping to beat them. We got about 5 yards and he had one wee when a firework went off and he turned round and headed back home. But he slept through until 7.15 am when I woke him up to go out. DH stayed up with him in case he was upset but he didn't take any notice of them at all once he was in. We'll know for next year.I vacuumed through downstairs this morning. After that I put a clean bird feeder out and soaked and cleaned the dirty one, swept up the garden and scrubbed off as much bird poo as I could. They're so ungrateful!Hope everyone's OK x8

The birds here are equally ungrateful and one of the jobs I really loathe is cleaning out the bird feeders. I've got one soaking at the moment and another needs doing very soon. Revolting job.Still working on financials. What's become horribly obvious is how often I do the absolute minimum and think 'I'll sort the rest out later' and clearly from what I'm finding - later never comes.I also discovered a horrible error I'd made back in November that I hadn't picked up at the time which I have had to confess to, because it's work on behalf of someone else. Fortunately for me she's been very kind about it and I sorted out the problem immediately but it was devastating to realise what I'd done, or not done in this particular case. Both issues, the chaos in some of my records, and the emails that didn't get sent that I thought had gone, were caused by me spreading myself too thin. I'm so glad I've found out now, right at the beginning of the year because it means I can add to the changes I know I have to implement this year - I need to say No to people and not think that because I can solve their problem I should do so. It's their problem, not mine. I can't go on like this. I need more time for the things I commit to, and to commit to much less.I think it's only over the past few weeks that I've fully realised that there is never, ever going to be enough time to do all the things I want to do. It's not a case of lousy time management - there are only so many hours in a day and I only have so much energy.Better is good enough.10

Re-downloaded the TOM app. So have made some progress there, which I’m happy about. I’ve certainly done better with it than I would have otherwise.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25
