I will mention this to her husband; thank you. I did ponder on whether to share her illness but I want to help so there we are!YORKSHIRELASS said:Hi all
Valli has your friend who suffers with anxiety listened to Claire Weekes podcasts? Sorry if that's not a good suggestion but I found her helpful when things were difficult.
I did two WM - the towels have been TD but the sheet and other white bits are on the line. Yesterday they froze first but they did dry - like where Round is though it's bitter cold there's no water on the ground to freeze.
I'm hoping to get the decs down today as DD will be around to help (ie go into the attic) but she's gone to the opticians.

Hi all
Lazy start but I have spent the last couple of hours putting away everything that came back from our New Year trip, rehoming assorted Christmas gibble and generally trying to set things straight. I think I approached this task in the most inefficient way possible and seem to have been up and down the stairs about fifty times, but I suppose that I am getting my steps in.
So far I have found a pair of trackie bottoms belonging to DS2 and a remote control, hat and pyrex dish belonging to DS1. Oh and GFs toothbrush. No keys or anything that will cause any of them huge problems, so that's good.
Two loads of laundry over the airer. It's sunny out but very cold and no breeze so I decided not to hang anything out.
Waiting for DH to finish his sandwich and cuppa then he will get the decorations box out of the loft and I will strip the Christmas tree. I also want to update my finance spreadsheets.9 -

I can confirm that Widow Twanky's Laundry is back in operation - WMx4 (including guest bedding) and short TDx4 completed today, towels lining up for tomorrow's onslaught, and the bathroom airers and radiators have come into their own.
Rosie was very keen to go out for a walk an hour ago, and stood at the back gate wagging her tail, but unfortunately the moment she stepped out onto the land she was frightened by popping noises (more likely to have been someone working in the barn opposite, rather than any sort of shooting) so she turned round and ran straight back. It's very cold out there: it was -7 at 6am and still down at -5.5 at 9am, and although the sun has shone all morning and melted some of the ice, there are still areas where the snow and ice are still in full control. Brrrr!!!
Glad to know that other people are being persuaded to help take down decorations and put them away safely. The way things work (or don't
) round here, I shall end up taking almost all ours down by myself, but it's times like these when I am grateful that I have eaves storage which is easily accessed from the upstairs rooms. 10 -
More vintage knitting/crochet patterns listed. I'm doing them in bundles, they're going, albeit slowly.
I've also listed a vintage concert t-shirt which was my sisters. I now have 36 active listings. Since I only actually sell 1 or 2 at a time it is manageable.
This is, of course, flying as it means stuff is leaving the house.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I've been round to see Pops and wish him a Happy Birthday. And bon voyaged him and Babs.
Two loads of washing swished and draped on the airer.
Tree down, and everything boxed / bagged ready to go back upstairs.
Every little helps.

I’ve worked my little bottom off today. Got loads done.Decluttered lots of boxes to be recycled.Cleaned all upstairs windows.Sorted the boys clothes, uniform drawers, packed DS1s bag for tomorrow, sorted school bags - only need to still do cooking stuff for DS1.Put all dry laundry away.
Hung a load on the airer.
Put a wash on.Dusted my room.Sorted office (cleaned to within an inch of its life) ready for btw tomorrow.Windows in house open - but closed rapidly when it started to snow and blow inside!Still to do:
Change my bed. ✅Hoover all upstairs and the stairs themselves. ✅Then I think it’s time to focus on back to school prep, food, bath, bed and a sit down before an early night ready for tomorrow…which could prove interesting given how cold it is.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25

Woo hoo, nearly finished all of today's planned jobs, plus a sneaky WM load & TD, which has been put away instead of folded-up-and-left-on-chair-for-days-on-end. Could this be the start of a new, improved Eltee?

Second attempt at a post as lost the earlier one while trying to do it on the Ipad
Welcome Christa27 - I hope you find it useful here, dip in and out as it works for you.
I too had a lazy start today but feel I have achieved a fair bit.- Decluttered last of decs to upstairs, DH helped carry the tree up. Some bits still need to be boxed up but they are upstairs in my room (which currently looks like a bomb site) waiting to go under the eaves in there
- Checked fridge for needs and walked out to shops. Lovely walk but cold.
- Hoovered both living rooms, hallway, stairs, dining room and kitchen
- Damp dusted both living rooms
- Checked the fridge freezer and big freezer contents against Google keep list as I hadn't been keeping up to date with what we had taken out or added. I now have to meal plan most of it in as there is a lot.
- Prepped dinner ready to go on shortly.
- One load in WM then transferred and drying in TD as we speak
- Spent ages looking for the bag of sweets I bought yesterday as I need a sugar hit - found them

Honey Bear
I have compared my figures to yours and it seems like they are higher and I have some extras and I had forgotten that the figure included the 0% interest free loan for bathroom workPower (gas and electricity) £1,912.07 £2980 (Old house not fuel efficient so we do burn free wood on an open fire in the winter)Council Tax £2,298.42 £2448Water £ 594.00 £494House Insurance £ 770.44 £740Car Costs (including petrol) £ 441.56 £975 (Insurance, RAC and MOT/Service - NO FUEL included!)Computers and Wifi £ 581.80 £718 (Talk talk and Netflix)TV Licence £ 174.50 £180Animals (inc insurance) £2,021.25 £1065 (Insurance, Vaccinations Flea worming and grooming every 8 weeks)Total £8,793.48 £9600
Life Insurance £380 (I think this may end in Jan as mortgage finished now)
Boiler cover £636
Caravan storage and insurance £551
Garage rent £1310
Total additional £2877
plus loan £5230 (overpaying to reduce period)
Grand Total £17707
I then spend around £400 per month on food and £75 on fuel which is another £5700 :'(
I have 5 years to retirement so will need to reduce some of the costs by then as that's ridiculous
In my personal budget I give every penny a purpose but it is what has saved me from the debt hell since I found MSE all those years ago when I first joined this thread. Wonder where are some of the old names are now Pigpen, Lil Me, AnW's mum, to name but a few. I do see a few on FB now and then but can't recall their MSE names.
Anyway gonna crack on with dinner now so hopefully will see on next weeks threadMortgage, paid off!8
