I would recommend speaking to a trained benefits advisor locally

There are no trained benefit Advisory services local to me. The link you have provided brings up my local job centre.

    Forget phoning to start with.
They are contracted out phone jockeys who know nothing about UC except what they read on their screens.
You will get no, or wrong, answers from them.
Sorry but I'm not sure what to suggest in your situation that might help.
TBH if you can then I'd leave it until they are back in the new year and then start shouting.

What if I left it until after the new year. Re-applied for UC. But this time as soon as I apply take all of my paperwork to the Jobcentre and explain to them what's happened. And that my son does have a entitlement.?

Quick question: how old is your son, and what benefit was he on? Did they ask him to make a universal credit claim by letter?

Son is 16 years old. He recieves ESA credits only and pip. No UC did not ask him to make a claim.

Ok, so everything currently in payment will continue, I think it will be best to wait until the routine isn't in holiday mode. See if anyone writes to you in the meantime.

I don't think UC will be writing to me now as claim is closed.

I don't know if you can leave a journal message still?

Or can ask for it to be looked at again.

"I am writing as the legal appointee for [Son's Full Name]. I have unccessfully submitted the claim, but I am seeing conflicting information. My journal states 'ID Verified,' yet the 'To-Do' list still asks for an ID call.

Please note that this claim is being made under the 'Disabled Student' provisions. My son is 16 and is currently in receipt of PIP and ESA Credits. Under UC regulations, he should be out.

As I am his official appointee, please ensure all identity verification is directed to me. I have already attempted online verification, but as I only have one form of primary ID, I am waiting for the phone call promised in the To-Do list.

Please do not close this claim for 'failure to provide ID' without contacting me first, as we are eager to comply but are limited by the automated system's requirements.

    Try something as above

DWP often needs to verify your identity and the validity of the appointment (the BF57 form/status) over the phone, rather than just his ID.

No I cant leave a message in the journal at all. But it says I can start claim again.

To be honest I don't think UC have closed claim due to to ID verification situation. As it says when I log in reason for claim closure. You are not eligible for UC

I am not able to open the claim or make any entries in the journal as its been disabled. Yes I am able to make a new claim but I am afraid and worried what if UC close it again?

I am thinking please correct me if I am wrong. Should I wait until after the new year and then start new UC claim adding all the information again as said above plus stating in bold do not close claim. And then on the same day gather all paperwork and walk into job centre and explain to them?
