UC/ID Verify

This is probably what has happened. If you are already verified as appointee and this is noted on central DWP records, they have already verified your ID and therefore automatically verified your Sons ID. This is why it says ID verified in journal.
So at any commitments appointment they just need basic ID so they can see it is yourself and Son attending. The current guidance is that in most circumstances a claimant commitment is waived (Work Coach accepts basic commitments on your behalf) when there is an appointee and a clerical claimant commitment should only be issued if the claimant and appointee feel that they want to have regular Job Centre support, where they agree on regular activities.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.1 -
As above, it’s your ID that needs to be verified, not your son’s. I did this in the summer as appointee for my son.0

I have still been waiting since the 19th Dec for UC to respond it's have now left 3 messages all for the attention of the case manager. But no body is responding. How else can get in touch with UC?
I am asking UC to acknowledge the below
I'd verification
Pip
Esa credits to be transferred over
Appointeeship0 -
They won’t acknowledge the PIP because that is nothing to do with UC.pope said:I have still been waiting since the 19th Dec for UC to respond it's have now left 3 messages all for the attention of the case manager. But no body is responding. How else can get in touch with UC?

I thought you said ID was verified earlier in the thread?
Not sure what you mean by “credits being transferred from ESA” that won’t happen. What will happen is that LCWRA element should be included from the start of the claim. You will know when this has happened because the commitments will change. You will need to check the first statement to see if the element is included.
The appointee should automatically apply because you are already appointee for the PIP.0 -
This is the problem i could not verify ID online. And got a message in the to do list we will phone you in 2 to 3 days on the day 19th Dec. There was nothing in the journal. On the same day I tried to verify ID but it failed saying I need 2 items of ID which my son does not have. Instantly there was then a message in the journal saying ID verified but in to do list it's still saying we will call you.poppy12345 said:

Its confusing because how can ID be verified when it requires 2 forms of ID I only have 1.
Below is what I sent to UC. Am I doing something wrong if so please correct me as this is driving me mad.I am in the support group ESA and under schedule 19(5) of the UC Transitional Protection Regs 2014, I should be automatically be put into LCWRA from the date of my UC claim. Therefore I am exempt from any mandated work search requirements and do not need to attend work coach appointments.0 -
Who did you select from the list to submit the last paragraph to ? As it's holidays I wouldn't hold your breath because it's a skeleton crew.
Basically take everything if they ask for proof. Medical, cards, bank cards, birth certificate, any correspondence with national insurance number on. Including P60U0 -

I've had that same message in my To Do list about calling me in 2-3 days since I applied for UC... In April 2022 where I subsequently confirmed my ID in person.
As you've had a Journal entry stating ID verified, I expect all of Poppy's advice is spot on.
Personally I didn't bother making a Journal entry about migration from ESA. In my case I did have one work coach appointment where I explained the situation. She turned off everything she could and booked another appointment (system mandated). That never went ahead as my ESA status was then confirmed.
This was however in 2022 under natural migration.0 -
UpdateI have had a message in the journal that the UC claim has been closed down due to my Son not being eligible. I have phoned UC and they say that they can't discuss anything with me as they don't have me down as the appointee tried to tell them that I have a DWP BF57 form as a appointee. They said we can't helpAny advice on what I should do now please?0

Forget phoning to start with. They are contracted out phone jockeys who know nothing about UC except what they read on their screens. You will get no, or wrong, answers from them.Sorry but I'm not sure what to suggest in your situation that might help.TBH if you can then I'd leave it until they are back in the new year and then start shouting.0
