As I’ve lost my wife my ability to save each month has now been severely diminished as, obviously, I’ve lost her salary too! I shall endeavour to keep saving when funds allow though.

I will be hopefully adding to savings later on this month. I am struggling a little with budgeting as with various pensions they are all paid out at different times. I also have a massive credit card bill to pay this week for new blinds and the cost of our majorca villa in October. So savings remain at £9000 for now.

quick turnaround and #17 t2rry declaring an additional £750 for September please.
The mortgage update means around £500 less per month to save, that feels rubbish but I keep the perspective that we are lucky to be able to save what we do after that, let alone before it. I may try to claw some back in other areas to bridge the gap slightly, though we are already pretty well versed in spending habits and not overdoing it, so we will see if there is any fat to be cut
