I think that you mean that you spoke to the CNBC in Northampton,  not the county court  ( different addresses. )

The Letter of Claim stage was irrelevant,  nothing to do with this, the claimant or their lawyers would have sent it, regardless of which you can respond or ignore

Its a Money Claim that you may have ignored  an N1SDT claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL,  that should never bigd, otherwise you get a default CCJ,  which may have happened here

If its not paid in full by the 4 week deadline, to DCB Legal,  then the CCJ is recorded, affecting you for the next 6 years , via your credit file

And a payment plan won’t stop the devastating effect on your credit rating for the next six years. Do everything you can to pay this off in full. Chances of a set aside after ignoring a claim form are remote, and even if successful, the £313 fee is on you. Then you’d have to defend the claim.

£324, paid to DCB Legal by the court deadline (do not miss this), will clear everything.

That may be a possibility. @ChirpyChicken has some knowledge on this front, so hopefully he will see my tag and offer some comment.

Definitely do not pay DCBL, its DCB LEGAL that you contact

The CCJ is less than the £600 bailiffs threshold, so no bailiffs will call

Maybe your colleague will offer to pay when/if it all goes pear shaped! Not saying it will but it's not just things like credit that is affected but trying to buy a new phone or renewing your broadband contract or car insurance where will be forced to pay higher premiums.  The court costs are now fixed but if the claimant chooses to use a recovery agent, they could add their fees.
