Mass copy files to Azure Blob

Dear experts, we are looking for a way to send a lot of data from SharePoint to Azure blob. Basically we want to archive old files so we do not run into quota issues with SharePoint as it is getting very expensive. Anyone has found an easy way to do it. We need to be able to filter based on modified date as access date is not enabled in auditing.

You might want to look at rclone. I use it for Linux backups to Google Drive and OneDrive, but SP and Azure seem to be targets too.melanyjeorge said:Dear experts, we are looking for a way to send a lot of data from SharePoint to Azure blob. I assume the OP is asking on behalf of a business and 'a lot of data' means multiple TBs.
If your goal is purely to stop paying for active SharePoint storage and you do not specifically need Azure Blob, look at Microsoft 365 Archive. It’s designed for “cold” SharePoint sites.
If you want something which can be run repeatedly in the future and has all the necessary filters and controls, then I'd look at tools from vendors such as AvePoint or Quest. Migrating SharePoint content is built into their software.2 -
We had the same issue and tried to do it with Azcopy but ran into issues connecting to SharePoint not sure how others said it can read from SharePoint. Tried to use Rclone but could not get feature to work was time consuming. Found a tool that did it well. It does not support access date from SharePoint but supports modified date. It is called gs richcopy 365. It is not free but did not cost an arm and a leg either. I liked it because it was gui based and had support which are helpful. If you are a good scripted, Rclone will do the job based on what I read .1
