My half term read is finished. It was a novel by Ruth Jones and one I had picked up in a book swap. It was on track to be a 7/10 (a middling score - I don’t persevere with anything less than a 7) but the ending pulled it up to an 8. It was an easy, fairly predictable read but the ending tied it all together nicely and did have an ‘ooh’ moment when the penny dropped.

Have added 3 more radio 4 programmes - Add to playlist (one of my fave radio 4 programmes and one of the pieces was Scarpia's song end of act one, gives me goose bumps every time), Sunday worship and Xtreme (very interesting programme about a team of doctors interested in how some people can copy with low oxygen while others can't so decided to climb Everest with no oxygen. like you do)

One of the joys of doing my alphabets is finding something I wouldn't have otherwise. Today was such a day. Just watched Zagazoo (TV programme beginning with z) - an animation of a Quentin Blake book I hadn't heard of. it was very sweet and brought back some memories of my own little elephants / waterhogs / unidentified fridge-clearing silent monsters. And yes i love them all :-)

Sorry I’ve been MIA. This year has been manic so far with lots of spinning plates, so this is a combined “yes I’m still here” and February catch-up!
Before I get into numbers, a couple of tweaks:
Meal planning has gone. With my current diet it just isn’t practical in the way I’d hoped, and I don’t want a goal hanging over me that doesn’t fit real life. So I’ve replaced it with Spend 26 minutes each week on learning and self improvement – this feels much more aligned with where I’m at right now.
And for the dreaded journal prompts that I hide from every year, I’ve shifted slightly. I’m doing a daily Q&A diary, which I’m genuinely loving, so that goal is now 365 entries across the year. It’s small, consistent, and hopefully doesn’t end up feeling as overwhelming as the original one!
I’ve been reading everyone’s updates and you’re all putting me to shame in the best possible way. The weekly check-ins seem to be working really well… so I might try that rather than resurfacing every two months like a confused groundhog 🤣
Right, onto where I stand at the end of February:
