yes. They charged me and never set the goods. I also know of other local mums who have experienced the same.

They will send threatening emails but just ignore them. They eventually get bored when you don't pay up and they won't take it to Court because it costs them more to do so than what you owe them so is not worthwhile. without a Court judgement they can't get a ccj so ignore.

Yes, they did not send the goods therefore your chargeback was fair and lawful basis.

Chargebacks have no stance in the law. They are simply card regulations.

This company often quote people as commiting chargeback fraud which then becomes a legal issue doesn't it? However they don't seem to ever contest the matter with anyone's credit card company or bank which I suspect is because they know they have no evidence that whole orders are sent out. They state in their Ts&Cs about them being "without lawful basis"

Their MO seems to be sending half of your order out thenignoringg emails until you give up then they have all the money still and half the stock still!! Or when you do take action they then bully and threaten people into paying! Then still having all your money and the stock!

Not defending the company, simply pointing out a chargeback is not a lawful means of getting money back, that would be taking them to court to reclaim the funds.

If only sending out out half the order is their trick, then they could easily contest a chargeback. With proof of delivery. Which they have.. Dosen't matter where or what is in the package. It's all about it was delivered.

No I know what you're saying and value the feedback. In that case what's the point of chargeback if not to reclaim money for undelivered items etc? Genuine question not being snotty 😂.

Luckily I took images of the packaging which wasn't large enough for two with the weight on it from evri so can prove they only sent the one if it was to carry on and have kept all correspondence with them, my bank, citizens advice etc.

No worries, I wish more people would question bank at time of starting the process.

A chargeback is simply a way via card regulations, which retailers & yourself (via bank) sign up to agree too. Which have their own regulation, which are deemed fair to both parties.

They are a crude way to get your money back, but as far as courts go they have no legal standing.

Sadly the fact you have pictures, weight etc. As far as chargeback goes makes no difference. All the retailer has to do is prove delivery. Makes no difference what you get or where it is actually delivered too. All they need is that proof of delivery. Which is why I do not get them contesting them. Unless they are worried about being blacklisted for too many chargebacks. Which is a silly stance, as not contesting is in effect them admitting guilt to their bank & card co's.

So why they go to the bother of that term in their T/C is a joke, as it will be costing them far more to send all the letters out, even email costs them in staff time.

Really people need to be taking them to court, where it will cost them far more & in your case the evidence is more on your side, unlike a chargeback. Once they get a couple of judgements against them, they might change their stance.

Sadly people take the easy route with chargeback, not realising that they have no legal standing. We have to give compliance that, even if you win a chargeback. The retailer can take the legal route to claim the funds back. No idea if other bank do. But would expect that something is given to stop complaints over not being warned.

Back in the day of Maestro & Switch. There was no non receipt chargeback, unless it was a oversea's retailer.

  • I've been following this thread for a few months now and really wish I'd seen more of the awful reviews before purchasing from Sensory Education. In October 2025 I bought a 'bespoke' (I wasn't told it was bespoke and being made in europe) cabinet from them on behalf of a SEN charity, costing £1,044- and paid by bank transfer against their invoice. They made no contact for 2 months only to tell me in December 2025 that they needed an EORI number to ship it to Northern Ireland. I tried to cancel the order at this point but was told that wasn't possible (cue the threatening emails). I provided them with an EORI number but haven't had any contact from them since January 2026. The bank are unable to help me pursue a refund as this was purchased by bank transfer. If I'd purchased as an individual rather than through the charity I believe I'd have more rights. I've no tracking number from them so I believe the item may be in UK customs somewhere… Any advice/comments welcomed?

I don't know for sure but i assume a purchase on behalf of a charity is not a consumer purchase but a business purchase so consumer rights do not apply.

You'd be better off starting a new thread on the Small biz MoneySaving — MoneySavingExpert Forum board.

I assume it would be covered by the Sale of Goods Act and whatever Sensory Education's T&Cs say.

If the charity is a large one don't you have a head office or legal advisors you can consult?

  • Sadly not @Okell We are a small volunteer led charity that supports my daughters severe special needs school so £1,044- lost is a big deal to us. We have to pay by bank transfer so that more than one signatory approves a purchase, but it seems to have landed us with no comeback on a scam supplier. I'll post in the other forum. Thank you for the advice.
