the employee contribution should have fallen a while ago, but we are having to pay for the arrogance of the government who were told the taper was discriminatory but ploughed on regardless.

Capita debacle mentioned on Radio 4 Six O'Clock News today. It is just a few minutes long and starts about 21 1/2 minutes in.

"Capita found no fewer than 20m records were inaccurate, incomplete or missing"

Quite remarkable. Particularly as the scheme only has 1.7 million members.
I think what was meant was that there were 20m data issues, with multiple data issues affecting many members. That sounds awful, but it really depends on the nature of the issue as to the effect it has.
For example, many records in pension schemes have issues with the last digit of a member's National Insurance number. That isn't a serious issue if everything else on a record is correct. Whereas if pensionable earnings are incomplete, that is much more of an issue. So without a bit more detail and breakdown, it is difficult to draw any conclusion from this statistic in isolation.
Personally, I would be much more concerned that after 7 months there are still no monthly data interfaces being uploaded, but that isn't getting any coverage. And whatever failings are being placed at MyCSP's door, they don't explain why Capita was not ready to receive data from employers at the start, and still are not in a position to do so.
The member portal was an embarrassment from day 1, and that also would have been unaffected by anything MyCSP did or did not do. So I am extremely skeptical of a narrative that the scheme being a basket case at handover is responsible for all the issues.

Personally eight months into retirement and I’m still waiting for final resolution of pension and all payments.
That’s eight months of relatively healthy retirement passed by that I’ve not been able to fully enjoy and time which I’ll never get back.
Others are in a worse situation as well.
Words fail me.

Capita must have known they were not ready to take over from mycsp but bluffed it on the premise they could blame mycsp.
That excuse has well run it's course and they are exposed for the chancers they really are.
Ruining good people's retirement and they don't care - they only care about bad publicity which they have got that in spades.
Pre my retirement on 1st Dec I remember watching the fancy webinars Capita produced and being put at ease - little did I know. That's the only consolation I took from this - I was in ignorant bliss before my retirement date (and got that amazing feeling leaving work on my last day) but subsequently had a few horrible months waiting on lump sum and pension payment.
No communication from Capita basically to this day....... ironically from the 8 secure messages I sent one actually got answered yesterday lol. I asked why I had never received any payslips (none by post non on portal)...…they responded by saying they will send them in post (2nd class). 2nd Class lol - felt like responding and saying I'll send you the fffing 80p to upgrade to first class post. Absolute joke.
My wife has just sent her quote forms back to claim her deferred pension so here we go again…....... At least we are prepared this time and have savings to back us up - but we and many others shouldn't have to rely on this.
Capita really are a sorry mess.
