Posting links to a couple of very recent updates that may be interesting (or irritating - depending on where you are in the process!) for some to read.

Member Knowledge Article Taskforce Update Number 10 - 25 June from the CPS website. With the next one being published 2 July according to Ms MacD. The most useful thing I read here was that Members successfully submitting their quote via the pension portal will receive an acknowledgement and reference number. Which is good to know and definitely something they have changed, as my recent Quote Pack stated you don't get any confirmation for uploading the response via the portal, hence why I had also thought about sending things back registered snail-mail!

Angela McDonald update on the Civil Service Pension Scheme transfer to Capita this is an interview with Ms MacD from 26 June Civil Service World.

delighted to read this having been online this afternoon.

My account- 2 queries that were showing in March have disappeared without being answered, my p60s that were showing in March have also disappeared, my personal details at least are correct.

Slightly worrying though is the June payslip isn't there. According to their notes payslips should show '2 working days before day of payment' which is Friday in my reckoning.

Looking at the most recent task force news updates I cant work out if I'm in the 6500 quotes due to be out in next few weeks (half of these are partial retirement quotes btw) depending whether my paper form from June 25 has ever been found or my online form from October is still in the system. Both of these had a date requesting my alpha so that I would get a quote for immediate choice. If they have ignored these (in spite of staff advising this is what I should do) maybe I will be in the immediate choice group that they are going to give us 'an update' on in September. She only intimated 'a significant number' so that could be anything from a few hundred to several hundred thousand as I would call either of these numbers significant.

    Sigh

Interesting to see what the allowance would now be inflation adjusted. I don't like to go along with statement that 'all politicians are the same'. However, it really irks me when they use/abuse taxation in this way. If the country needs to raise more taxes fair enough...increase the basic/higher rate percentages. If justified I am quite happy to pay extra tax in a transparent way.

Freezing allowances (same with student earning thresholds) is used cynically & the politicians are relying on the public not paying attention to how fiscal drag is undoing all the previous promises to reduce the tax burden on lower incomes. People have budgets as well as governments & the give/take of taxation in this way just really annoys me.

PS sorry to go off topic....back on topic I have still heard absolutely nothing about my CSP, applied November 25, due at beginning of May 26.

you can get the gross pension and tax figures from the HMRC app. Not a payslip but it will give you the amount

I retired in February received my lump sum in March, arrear payments in early June and am due to receive my first pension payment in July. I queried why April 26 inflation rise had not been added to my pension and was told this would be added in second half of tax year i.e. October 26.

I have just read that as pension is only being put into payment in July 26, I am not due an April 26 inflation rise.

As pension has to be in payment before April to receive rise.

If I had received my pension on time in March I would have been eligible for rise. I have raised matter with Capita.

you would only get one twelfth of the 3.8% because it’s pro rata the first year, but still it is yours and you shouldn’t lose out because capita couldn’t arrange to get drunk in a pub.
