New Capita-run Civil Service Pension Scheme - problems (what a surprise!)

By the time the current freeze ends in 2031, it should be roughly back to the level it was in 2010 in either price or earnings terms.
The 2010 personal allowance was £6475 which would be £10290 today.
(Over-65s for a higher PA back then, I think. Reintroducing this would be a retrograde step, IMHO, but would be an option.)
So rather than a nice boring price or earnings link every year, we got to enjoy a decade of ramping it up massively and then freezing it for a decade, with neither making much sense.
Yes, that's a neat way of looking at it!

thank you. That was purely for my own masochist tendencies!
Now I can continue to privately fume about my lost 100K state pension aand add the fact I should still be under taxation limits. In fact both us would be. Wont change a material thing, just my own blood pressure and help hone my white hot anger against the various decision makers 😂🤣😠😬🤬

In the spirit of haiku/limerick/nursery rhyme great comments (from earlier this month) that put a smile on my face…
Good morning postie
I spy my pension quote there
I fall from the chair
Just for sense of my timeline for anyone else waiting too. My request for partial retirement quote was submitted to MyCSP on 1 October 2025 by my employer. My date for partial retirement (reduced hours and salary) commenced on 1 April 2026. Was informed by Capita at end of April (after lengthy wait of 1h45m to help desk) that my request had been through "triage" on 12 March and was in the queue but they could not tell me anything else. Im pleased that the quote has arrived as promised by Capita before the end of the month and at first glance looks pretty OK and what I expected, but will spend a bit of time going through the details this weekend.
Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? Mary Oliver

Boom! I received my Finalisation letter from Capita today. Looks good. Figures look correct.
My monthly payments start from 1 August, and I will receive 60% of my arrears dating back to 1 December 2025 plus my WPS refund within the next week. The other 40% of arrears will land on 1 August (actually Friday 31 July). Hope this info is of use to somebody.I selected inverse commutation of my lump sum on my application form so that I would get added monthly pension. They’ve included that, but they paid me the lump sum in February, therefore they say in the letter that they will contact me separately regarding the overpayment of my lump sum. Does anyone know how and when they will claw that back from me?
Good luck to everyone else.

That's amazing you should be so relevied 😌
If you don't mind me asking does the WPS refund get listed separately on the letter or is it included in the total?

Thank you. Yes, mega relieved.
My WPS refund is listed separately. The letter and figures are pretty clear to be fair.
The only thing is they quoted my monthly pension figure as the 1 December one, not including the April 2026 inflation rise.2 -
News of people getting their quotes (and the quotes being largely accurate) is promising.
Two former colleagues, one of whom retired in January and the other in February, are still waiting for theirs, and I’m not expecting mine (retired mid-May) until September at the earliest, but at least it’s showing some movement3 -
Interested to hear they included the WPS refund on your finalisation letter. Missing off my letter from Capita and no response or progress getting my refund. Only hope I have left is as if by magic it’ll just appear in my bank account.

Hope you get that sorted soon WtW.
