I wonder if the time out of market on cash transfers and the missed growth will mean the cashbook ended up being less than the gains missed out on.   Or maybe you missed a loss if you happen to get lucky with timing,
One of the reasons I was only going ahead if all the funds could be transferred in-specie.

Fortunately my transfer is inspecie, but there is still no sign of it landing with Barclays despite initiating the transfer five and a half weeks ago and the assets leaving HL on Monday this week.

I’m sure it will resolve itself eventually and in the meantime I’m presumably not accruing fees.  But the slowness compared to similar assets I transferred AJ Bell > HL is unimpressive as is the zero communication received from Barclays on progress.

My assets were not chargable on the HL platform vs approx £600/year with Barclays, and from what I’ve seen so far everything about the HL service looks better.
HL only charged £45 pa for my ISA.....Barclays will be approx £600 pa

HL streets ahead of Barclays in relation to the app etc, and it seems, will be the same on customer service

in specie transfer here so no loss being out of market

lack of contact from Barclays is pretty shocking tbh, and i struggle to see how they will retain customers when better and lower cost options look to be available elsewhere

Reading between lines - I suspect the back office staff are swamped as a result of the cashback offer.

(Which might suggest that an offer with this level of generosity might not come around again for some time = make good use of it now)

Slow transfer as well but it seems my current provider is to blame and not barclays.

I am not bothered by slowness for transfer in given the fees but more concerned when I transfer back out of barclays as delays will mean more fees.

Is it safe to say that initiating the transfer on the 14th feb will not make you ineligible for the cashback as the account would have been open on that date as per the terms?

ETF and shares capped at £37.50 pa at Hargreaves, but a £500k ISA costs £650 at Barclays.is a flexible ISA worth £600pa extra.

Could get it all free at Freetrade plus a £5,000 cashback (payable December 2026) - tempting but worried about my life savings disappearing lol.

just wondering about transfer to next broker

seen both the freetrade and ig cashback offers

out of the two, which would be the better option

    meaning better service/reputation/costs

    thanks for any input

But there's no lock in mentioned in the terms - so move it when incentive paid?

I just came in to ask the question - I cannot see any mention of a minimum holding period in the offer terms - can anyone else?

Goes without saying (but I say it anyway) that I need to hold the investments until they have paid the bonus money.
