Afternoon all. Weekend nearly done, my DS and his family visited yesterday and DD1 and her family and DSIL to DD2 came for lunch. 7 adults, 3 children and a springer spaniel. Chaos and not even organised chaos! And the dog stayed overnight. It was the first time we met her and she was good as gold. Two year old springer. It was bittersweet because she reminded us so much of the dog we used to have, although ours was the quietest springer I ever knew. She was picked up at lunchtime today and they brought their 10 year old boxer in for half an hour too. That was exciting

Nice to get rid of a couple of big bags of Christmas presents. When they left I vacuumed through downstairs and washed the kitchen floor. You forget how much dogs dribble when they've had a drink! After that we had a cup of tea and a mince pie and now I'm on here while DH is catching up with some of his programmes.Hope everyone's OK.7 -
We both had to take it very easy yesterday after all the rush to get the show open, and then as we knew it would - closed last night. Get out went smoothly and I managed to slot the car back into the parking spot I vacated to take it to the theatre. We unloaded last night, Belovéd joined them all in the pub, sorted out the props and costumes this morning and we've literally just shoved it all up in the attic so it's ready if he ever wants to do it again. We went out to breakfast this morning at our favourite local café and had an enormous sharing breakfast platter between us and we're going next door for supper tonight so neither of us has to think about food today. We'll be back to near normal tomorrow but we're both doing as little as possible physically today because we need to gather ourselves back up for the onslaught of the next two weeks.I've downloaded all the stuff from my brain on to paper and made listies for this week of stuff that's either Urgent or Important so I know what i need to get done each day because although we've stayed on top of the house and it looks vaguely tidy it's most definitely not spick and span. After three weeks of wondering where a faint unpleasant niff is coming from, I think I've worked it out and will address it when I've got some guag. None at present, like several others here. I blame the weather.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.7

another one suffering from gloomy weather but I have put up tree and decs, this year tree is in DR and therefore prone to cat attacks, with a few tasteful ornament elsewhere. the coloured lights on the staircase swag look fabulous against the white wood - I love having the staircase decorated. Decs came down when other stuff went up into loft.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
