Morning all, It's a sunny start to the day here.
My list for today
Attend a meeting with uni tutor
Do required uni work
Do paid stuff
Take the dog for a long walk
Empty the kitchen bin
Check banking and dds
Apply for a couple of jobs
Make a budget spreadsheet for 2026
Sort through the cupboard and look into trading some cds/dvds as we never use them
Add 5 items to V
Take DD to the stables so she can feed and check on her pony
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday.7 -
Afternoon all,
A bitty day here so far. Nurse appointment first thing at the surgery, washing set to swish while I went. As it has been so bright and sunny - although not much above freezing - I have done a second load and pegged that out. It may well freeze on the line.
I went to the allotment for an hour, more for the walk there and back than for what I could usefully do there. I have come home with veg - today’s offerings are carrots, parsnips, cavolo nero, celeriac and chicory. Tomorrow’s Mr M order has now been updated to remove veg!The plasterer is cracking on here - no pun intended, although it is an accurate description of the walls before he boarded them. It does make flying almost impossible due to the dust and the fact that he is working on the hall and stairs. I know, any excuse.
A bonus flingage from deciding to burn a candle a day - the one I lit in the sitting room last night had lost all trace of being Twilight Sea. It and its 4 companions have been disposed of, making a small amount of cupboard space. Every little helps and all that.5 -
Yule decorations now in place, wanted it done before my birthday as hubster has some time off then and we have plans to go for lots of wanders using up our NT membership before it expires (& isn’t being renewed) at the end of the month!
Bits to the charity and kitchen given a s/s.. Vacuumed lots today (tree debris 🤣) and also dusted above/around where tree is..
Pleased with myself, despite being desperate for my B12 jab (exhausted ++ at the mo) the COPD nurse was very excited that my peak flow was now 400.. it’s never been this high in.. forever!! ☺️
Shame the weight is also the highest it’s been for 8 years, grr..😑🫣Homemade Toad in the hole, mash and veg with gravy cooked for tea. It was well received, everyone was staaaarving 🤣 Everything except a few sprouts and a spoon or two of mash left, so that’ll mean bubble n squeak for hubster in the morning. Dishwasher loaded & the rest of the dishes done, dried and packed away..
@Fayolle I am seriously considering applying for an allotment, what are the important things should I ask the committee or those running if I do?Shattered and ready for my bed.. 😬 Will wait though as footy is on this evening & I will get to have a lovely soak while hubster is growling (or cheering) at the TV 🤭"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

Evening all. I've done both lots of bedding today plus other washing, some half dried outside and the rest indoors. Although it was a lovely sunny day it wasn't warm enough to dry anything properly so that lot had to be finished off indoors too.Cleaned the bathroom and toilet this morning including taking everything out and cleaning thoroughly before putting it all back. I really really hate doing the bathroom. Just feels like I'm moving dust about rather than getting rid of it.Had a walk this morning. Three really if you count going over for the newspaper twice because they were late coming in and then a separate walk mid morning. Picked up DGD4 from school and she came back here for tea.Hope everyone's OK x6

Evening,
The tv/Internet man was here for about an hour and a half.
I've cleaned the bathroom (floor left to do)
Hoovered/ swept around downstairs and laminate flooring has been floor wipe mopped.
Kitchen S/S again, DW been on, unloaded and dinner bits have been put in.
Dealt with some phone calls and had a fight with the Christmas tree and its lights.

I spent a chunk of today doing admin as Power of Attorney for an elderly relative. Sometimes it's like wading through treacle but fingers crossed I've achieved at least 1 thing. Some organisations don't seem very receptive to PoA's and I'm never sure if it's because they are being diligent or just trying to fob me off.
anyway I then had a nice time making the upstairs landing look clean and festive. I found a new reed diffuser lurking in a cupboard which is now in the hall so it smells lovely on the landing too.

Afternoon all. One washload done and dried indoors. All put away. Shopping for nearly 3 hours with DD2. I only wanted bananas and mustard but of course I ended up with two bags of stuff. Nothing frivolous, if I don't need it Saturday when family visit we will use it up over the next couple of weeks.Tidied the larder out this afternoon and put all the stuff I need for Saturday at the front where I can reach it without a chair. I hate asking for help so now I won't need to.Hope everyone's OK x6

Hi all
My brother and family are on their way. The whole house has been tidied, dusted and polished. Spare beds are made up and clean towels set out and the fold away dining table is up next to the proper one with the best table cloth thrown over the top. The best glasses and tableware have been polished, there is a lasagne in the freezer, an apple crumble ready to go and enough food and drink to keep everyone fed and watered.
I have done a couple of hours work from home but that's it until Monday. Looking forward to some family time. Feet up now.7 -
Not a particularly good night's sleep so I cancelled gym but pottered around doing stuff indoors as it was very cold and wet outside:
- one load washing up
- wrote more cards; really nearly finished now, posted all UK ones
- checked cc bill
- input solar panel readings
- dealt with a lot of flagged emails
- all my charity gifts now done via the Big Give
- went to drumming lesson
- filled bird feeders
- have started another pair of fingerless gloves - it's like an addiction as they are so quick and easy
- got a couple of things from Mr T (Mr N had been to Mr L already) but was unable to get what flowers I wanted as the first floral gift is needed for Sunday. Will have to go to a different one tomorrow
Tomorrow is pilates, aqua aerobics then quick change as we are out for lunch with the 'biker gang'. Then zumba.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.6
