Parcel gone missing from doorstep

Can I claim from the Royal Mail for a parcel which has seemingly gone missing? Just chasing-up what happened to this item and it was apparently delivered three months ago, there is a picture of it in the garden. However I didn't have any email saying it was on it's way, nor to say it was delivered, nor a card through the letterbox so I didn't know it had been delivered.
This is quite an expensive item which came from abroad, surely Royal Mail should have required a signature shouldn't they.

You have no relationship with RM in this matter, normally only the sender does. However since the seller didn't actually entrust it to RM either, they would need to contact their local postal service.0

As advised above, you need to take this up with the retailer. A UK-registered retailer holds responsibility for a delivery until its in the recipient's possession, which doesn't mean left on the doorstep (unless that was a place designated by the customer).
Where is the retailer based? It will be the consumer laws of that country that they operate under, but in the first instance, you should let them know you didn't receive the item. Given three months have elapsed I doubt they'll be inclined to do anything, but it's the first thing to try.0 -
This is an unfortunately situation.RomfordNavy said:Can I claim from the Royal Mail for a parcel which has seemingly gone missing? You have no contract with RM, so *you* can't raise a claim against them, it would have to the person or company that sent the parcel.
Moreover, if (as it appears) this is an overseas retailer, then they're not subject to UK consumer laws. Whilst it's likely there similar-ish laws in their own country, getting them enforced from abroad will be difficult and/or expensive.0
