It's announced for 2027, which gives a fair amount of time to design and implement the detail, but it's just human nature that there's frenzied speculation on here about what it'll look like beyond the headlines!westv said:I imagine it'll be delayed and watered down.0 -

Because some of us want to plan and get ahead of the curve, rather than just wait for things to happen "out of the blue".
Fail to prepare....and all that😉How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2 -
Also i think there is a difference between speculation and taking what has been provided / said and going through scenarios.Left is never right but I always am.1

But what specifically needs to be planned at this stage?Sea_Shell said:

In principle there's a difference, but in practice in this case, most of the 'what if' questions are dependent on speculation, given the lack of published detail, hence your earlier nine questions and "too many questions without answers at the moment"!Mistermeaner said:Also i think there is a difference between speculation and taking what has been provided / said and going through scenarios.1 -
Seems like the prudent questions are:eskbanker said:

- Should I transfer any or all of my SSISA investment into cash ISA urgently. It seems like we have until April 2027 to do this but worth keeping an eye on it. There could be delays if lots of folks are doing this at the last minute.
- Could this at any point cause a run on money market funds or other provider cash reserves if everyone decides that MMF are no longer worth having? Seems unlikely for the moment but again worth monitoring.0 -
I'm sure many people will be wondering whether to stuff their cash ISAs for this and next tax year!!, if they have headroom.eskbanker said:

Or plan what to do with the "cash like" investments already held, if they aren't going to be able to transfer them (de-risk) to cash cash, down the track.
Or do nothing different and just see what actually happens in April 27.
Do we zig or zag? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
....and I'd say that the answer to both is 'no'!Pat38493 said:

Would this come under age discrimination I wonder?0

The question also arises will over 65's be allowed the MMF's that under 65's are prohibited from using - or will platforms decide it is too much trouble and rule them out for everybody?Once you look into the bare bones of the plans there seems to be more and more that will need ironing out in the next 18 months if the timetable is to be kept.2
