I'm curious about people who pay out £hundreds and then 20-30 minutes later change their mind? Why not mull it over for an hour or two first...it saves this kind of hassle?1

There will always be some who get caught out with circumstances, e.g. order something and then realise your partner's already ordered one for you, but more generally, I agree with you. It's a bit rich for OP to complain that someone asking questions is wasting time, when they came here for advice from volunteers to assist with a problem of their own making.Renfrewman said:I'm curious about people who pay out £hundreds and then 20-30 minutes later change their mind? Why not mull it over for an hour or two first...it saves this kind of hassle? If you really want to know it's because I received an email from Motorola to say that I was eligible to make an advance purchase of the phone and receive a £250 discount, I went through the order process but the discount was never applied, so I advised that I wanted to cancel. I subsequently discovered that a code is required which wasn't obvious while going through the ordering process, I now have this but I've been put off repeating the order both by my experience of Motorola's customer service and because I've since seen a review of the phone that has cast some doubt on whether it's a good deal even with the discount. As for the current location of the package it's not in my control, I never took possession of the package so return is the responsibility of UPS and Motorola. I can query it with Motorola but they don't work on Friday and Saturday so I was hoping to get the view of forum members on my interpretation of the T&Cs, as explained in my OP. If that's not forthcoming from anyone then I'll chase up the refund next week anyway if it doesn't appear on my card.0

So it could be stuck in customs?SiliconChip said:born_again said:
I know, just asking to confirm.👍TadleyBaggie said:
Fourth bullet point suggests they did.born_again said:So did you refuse delivery?
As would have been better to take phone & contact them for returns address.
Simply refusing delivery, can lead to a world of pain as there is no real tracking process. Item could get stuck in van or depot it's taken back to, waiting for someone to sort out.
Never mind that a returns address can be different to a fulfillment canter they are sent from.
Yes, I did refuse, which is what Motorola told me to do, as I've stated in the 3rd bullet point.
You seem to be keen on raising irrelevant points but not so keen to answer what I've asked. If you don't know the answer then it's probably best not to post at all as you're wasting everybody's time. But it does seem strangely pointless asking questions that were already answered in the OP's original time.Whenever I get caught doing that, I generally apologise for wasting people's time. Not go off on a strop because the OP is being ungrateful. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -

Part of my role if not sure, is to question. Everybody has a different view on what is clear.
Given Op has now explained why they cancelled, valid reason. But when explaining that it was due to no code, why did company not offer to amend order, rather than reject & reorder?
Op wants people to refer to T/C of purchase, but neglects to post a link to them 🤷♀️

Op wants people to refer to T/C of purchase, but neglects to post a link to them 🤷♀️I requested the cancellation (which was accepted automatically) before I had the code, and because I ordered on a Friday there was no customer service available to have made any changes until at least Sunday, and my subsequent experience suggests they have limited ability to do anything with an order once it's been placed anyway. The link to the T&Cs has been in the OP since I started the thread, I won't mention a well known chain of High Street opticians
