Best to ignore it then. There is no appeal worth trying and defending a court claim is soooo much easier than any appeal stage anyway.

Read the NEWBIES thread posts 4 and 2 in that order because those are your stages.

Please DON'T show us the tedious debt demands. That's why they are already in pictures in post 4 of the NEWBIES thread; to stop people posting them & panicking on thread after thread.

     :)
Ok. I'll re-read it. I thought Gr1pr was suggesting defending a court claim wouldn't work but your post is much clearer
I only suggested that the 2 appeal stages would not work, especially the appeal to Parking Eye,  but you could try one or both of them, just dont expect to win at appeal stages.  Nobody here expects you to win either appeal, but it took all the questions in order to arrive at the conclusions

At no point did I mention any court claim outcome,  that is entirely a different ball game with other aspects in play, hence why I never mentioned any court claim strategy. It's currently not on the table

You asked if it was plan B, I replied stating that court is plan D

I also outlined that there was no parking offered to drivers visiting other businesses,  so possibly no contract on offer,  so possibly trespassing

My replies are to make you realise that the driver should not have parked there and there was no chance of entering, completing the mission and leaving within the short 30 minutes, leading to an automatic invoice for £100 in the post

So as coupon mad stated,  those of us in the know would have avoided parking there, prevention is easier than cure
I still don't know whether I am supposed to actually ignore the debt collection letters or if that won't work because it's Parking Eye

ALWAYS IGNORE the powerless debt collectors letters,  ALWAYS

Ignoring powerless debt collectors letters is not about it working or not, it's because they are irrelevant and have no bearing on the case. Your dispute is between you and the private parking company

Thanks, but then maybe the comment by Coupon Mad should be edited? I appreciate it's tiresome for those of you who know this stuff inside out to have to answer questions and I've done my best to read and understand before asking anything but doing that might help newbies and experienced members

Not sure what comment you are referring to but if it is the following it specifically states "(ignore DRP though)."

"I've read post 4 and clicked the link within that. That post has a comment from you as follows:

     1. - if your PPC is a litigious one like ParkingEye or Excel, then you should not ignore the PPC (ignore DRP though)."

Yes that one (you have quoted my comment though which is quoting from the post). It says not to ignore debt collection letters from Parking Eye but doesn't explain what to do instead. Then Gr1pr says "always ignore" it's just very confusing

I might edit it if I remember at some point but it's a tiny detail. The overall message is:

    Ignore all £170 threatograms.

Defend a court claim (very easy). No risk.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Many thanks for clarifying. I'll ignore (but collate) the letters and update the thread once I receive the court claim

A Letter of Claim precedes a Money Claim

They have 6 years to issue a Money Claim,  so keep your paperwork and evidence safe

I have received a reminder of the parking charge notice in the post. I assume that I should ignore this too, but I just wanted to check
