Ignore the calls from DCB LEGAL
Study the mediation advice in the 8 steps in the defence template thread in announcements
No discussing the case, only money
Here is anecdotal evidence of what actually happens, by another successful victim

I had a mediation call last month. Nice lady on the phone. I offered a tenner which DCBL blatantly rejected. They offered £50 which I wasn't willing to pay either.
Finally yesterday, I received a letter titled: NOTICE OF ALLOCATION TO THE SMALL CLAIMS TRACK (Hearing). A court date has been allocated for hearing on 30th June 2026. My questions are:
1. Is anything that I would need to do?
2. When should I expect a discontinuation letter?

- Study the 3 deadline dates on your court order, 1st and second pages, write them down in chronological order, is the court fee deadline date the earliest one. ? You should also be drafting your WS bundle
- Just before the hearing fee deadline date, but by email, not by letter

They mentioned if the fee wasn't pay by above date, the claim will be struck out with effect unless court orders otherwise.
Pls I'm not sure if I'm following. What's WS bundle?

Is that date BEFORE the WS deadline, because it can vary depending on the court
Study the what happens next section in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum, in post 2, because its worrying that you haven't studied it ( or studied page 2 of your court order. ) so newbies thread
IMPORTANT - KNOW WHAT YOU MUST DO AND BY WHEN!There is a lot more detail in the court letter than just a hearing date ( or a court fee deadline date. )

Thanks. I have sent you a DM of the letter. I have studied but I think initially thought defence letter was WS which I sent at the onstage of my defence.

Thats only part of the letter, with 2 dates one month apart and a location on it, so its probably page 1
I dont think that you have read page 2 with the court directions applying to the defendant. ( you )
No the defence is not a Witness Statement, its a Defence Statement
You really need to study the advice given by coupon mad in the 2nd post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
IMPORTANT - KNOW WHAT YOU MUST DO AND BY WHEN!Its a game of 2 halves
The CNBC part is the first half of the game
The local court part is the 2nd half of the game

"
Is anything that I would need to do?"Yes but you can already see that on your Order. We don't need to read it. You must prepare what the hearing Order tells you to do this month.
Your deadline is on page 2 of that Order.
WS & evidence is a fully expected stage (see the NEWBIES FAQS thread post 2). However, you also already know it'll be discontinued before that deadline, so you are in fact only 'going through the motions' just in case DCB Legal break the habit of a lifetime.
We told you this seven months ago:
buckycasualssaid:Thanks for your clarification. I understand but I don't even want to see court room. Would the claim be dismissed before it ends up in court?Along with other busy regulars, I answered you on November 8th:
Of course they'll discontinue! Always do.
Play the game; in 2026 it will happen.
So, you have known all this since last year and should be well prepared having read the massive red capitals section '
IMPORTANT - KNOW WHAT YOU MUST DO AND BY WHEN!'in the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
