Instead of reapeatedly going on about the 'basic grasp of English' it would be interesting if you could explain why the majority of others using the same system for changing address, myself included, had no problem at all.2

Only your grasp of English seems to be the problem.Chief_of_Staffy said:
Then I'm sure it works for you. But again, reading and comprehending what we are told by GOV.UK, that is not what is instructed.MikeJXE said:In my situation I get things done when they are required not after
A £1000 fine if you don’t have the correct address on your driving licenseI always change mine a week before I move for License and V5 document
You must update your driving licence, vehicle log book (V5C), Direct Debit for vehicle tax and other details when you move home. - GOV.UK
When you change address, you need to inform DVLA as soon as possible - MoneySupermarket
If your address has changed, you need to inform the DVLA as soon as possible - Autotrader
But there is merit in what you say, because despite GOV.UK not instructing to change address before you move, that is the unwritten assumption of the online form. Despite the nonsense written above that 'current address' means 'address on your licence', it clearly does not, because the question immediately afterwards is, "Have you lived at this address for less than three years?"
Again, a basic grasp of English shows us what's being asked for.. Unfortunately, it's not what they require.1 -
I have not the slightest interest in speculating about what an alleged 'majority of others' do or do not do. The instructions on the site are specific and clear, and they are also misleading, and wrong, hence the recorded message on their phone lines. I've shown that and if you don't believe me you can go online and follow the process yourself and see it.swingaloo said:Instead of reapeatedly going on about the 'basic grasp of English' it would be interesting if you could explain why the majority of others using the same system for changing address, myself included, had no problem at all.
I know it's a kneejerk reaction to some people to pop up on these threads and say the opposite when anyone complains about anything (a slow day perhaps), but if you want to be taken seriously I'd suggest actually addressing the facts and not, "Oh, I changed address last year and it worked for me so you're doing it wrong ner!"0 -
Be specific. Where precisely has my grasp of English failed? What mistake have I made in interpretation? Quote it. Slavering at the mouth to be corrected by an expert linguist.sheramber said:

Is this thread now sufficiently off-topic that we can plead for it to be closed?Emmia said:

Ah, so not willing to accept that others are able to use the site without issue. Interesting.Chief_of_Staffy said:

I don't mind if you take me seriously or not, I am addressing the facts and Im saying that I used the site and it worked just fine. That's a fact!0 -

If you want a question answered I'd recommend asking it first. Or were you inviting me to address the lie you posted that I am not willing to admit others use the site successfully, when I actually explicitly acknowledged that fact three times?swingaloo said:

So quote it. Quote the words you claim I have misinterpreted and explain why. Because right now you're trolling.sheramber said:
