On that basis you shouldn't be on E7

Another bit to find -  go to your bills and see if there are different rates  ie p/kWh against the day and night units or are they the same ?

Give those readings to SP and get a revised bill

It looks like the unit rate is the same but I can't be sure I can just see the 30p per unit part.

You need to read the meter to get kWh figures. Not the IHD which might well not be set correctly if the supplier isn't communicating with the meter.

If you have gas central heating the you'll be paying over the odds if your electricity is on a day/night tariff. Get the rates from the bill, not from the IHD.

If you can't read your meter, or understand your bill then post pictures and we can help.

Otherwise we have no way of knowing if there's a problem or not. For example 900kWh in three months is quite possible. Even normal, although maybe a bit above average.

I gave the readings direct from meter a few posts above.

I don't know if it's on day/night tariff but both the meter and bill show usage for those times

Anyway gave SP my new meter readings, aware it may take a few days to get right but I tried changing then and they now want £103 per month.

30p per unit seems high for a tariff that's effectively single-rate.
What's the name of your tariff as stated on your bill, and what region of the UK are you in (rates vary by region)?

Why don't you post the bill with your personal details obscured? It would be unheard of for a bill not to show unit prices.

I gave the readings direct from meter a few posts above.
To understand usage you need a series of meter readings. If you only have those two readings then look at the date the meter was installed. Then we should at least have your total use over a known period - a major step forward.

Neither you nor we will get anywhere if you stick to expressing use in terms of cost, and basing your complaint on an idea that those costs must self-evidently be wrong.

Found it, 632 daytime 202 nighttime.
OK, so you've used 834kWh since the meters were fitted (which you said was in July). So three months.
And your tariff is 30p/kWh plus 54p/day standing charge.
Over those three months, then, your epectricity cost will total £250.20 and your standing charge wil be ~£48.60 (plus or minus a few days). Total £298.80, or close to £100 a month.
But - most of that period will have been in the warmer and brighter half of the year, with less electricity use than during the colder and darker months. So if you're on a budget DD scheme where you expect to pay the same amount every month, your monthly payment will need to be more than £100.
On top of that due to the estimated readings SP want to put up my monthly DD to £126!
£126 per month sounds about right, to be honest.

OK so thats c10% less - 834kWh total vs 884kWh bill estimates and also includes the whole of October, assuming 1st nov numbers not just to 13th on estimated quarterly statement - so again maybe 3.5-4m vs 3 months depending on when new meter fitted.

So you need to supply them with those readings and if not smart or smart not reporting continue to do so ahead of - at least a week or maybe 2 - ahead of their quarterly statement end periods.

My suplier actually specifies wants readings monthly - others in family get nagged for readings quarterly a couple weeks before billing - well as on annualised dd statement - date.

And if on svt you should be ideally submitting readings at cap changes - jan, apr, jul, oct 1st readings anyway which should be enough to keep estimates in check.  AND thats also close to your billing cycle (13 July, 13 oct )

Your usage is high but maybe not excessively so for a single bed with gas (cooking and heating) - i assume gas does tge hw tank but the tank doesn't do your shower ?

SP estimates was c 290kWh pm - your measurement less (when did meter go in?) - My summer use ranges in the 150-180 kWh range  - but that includes 2-3kWh per day - so say 75kWh pm - hot water  which you say the gas does - but an electric shower.

My old desktop pc take me up to the c300W level and beyond if tv on or freezer compressor active - if crunching data.

My summer base load is 1kWh empty (freezer, couple of led bulbs on timer, no heating/ hw).

My absolute min spot use  20W day, 27W night  - freezer adds another c70W when active.

Single biggest summer costs hw tank (2-3kWh daily - 50-75p - but your gas ?(*)) and cold fed shower bout 1.5kWh for 10 min shower c40p at svt single rate.

Its often a mistake to ignore gas for heating and cooking - its normaly cheaper than some forms of electric - less efficient but gas c1/4 price per kWh.  You can often heat a small flat by gas for less than you could heat 1 room with electric.

(*) If you have a hw tank het by gas it could also have an electric immersion heater - make sure its off if gas on  - sometimes if gas not on long enough or set too low- they can kick in.  Mines uses 2-3kWh for very light tap use - with a 3kWh element - thats less than an hour - like you thats hw but excluding cold fed shower - at least 1kWh just tank losses.

My sisters ihd loses connection late at night - its a SP install too - cannot remember her meter brand.
