046 reporting in. This year I am aiming to save whatever is left in my purse each week from my personal spends as I prefer to use cash, also plan to pot any spare cash from our UK breaks as again I like to use good old pounds.3

Three more pounds in coins added today. Good luck with your potting everyone. Afternoon all. As it's half-term it's quiet at work and I'm saving work for tomorrow at the office
so here I am. £10.59 transferred into my Plum virtual pot to start off another year. I didn't realise till I re-read the rules/notes that the other challenges could be included but as they're ongoing, I'll probably just stick with what I'm doing.
Very excitingly, DH and I are looking at getting another dog. We swore Storm was a one-off, both as a character and as a pet, but the bigger picture is that I need the exercise (and I miss the walks) and DH wants the company when - to quote him - I'm off gallivanting with my mates. To be fair, as I've told him repeatedly, this year has been a bit of a one-off for me doing things (every month except July). I think realistically another husky would be too much for him now, but we've got our eyes on a couple of cockerpoos (only having one though) at the RSPCA (who I detest as an organisation with the heat of a thousand suns) but along with a husky rescue that we've found, their application is more amenable than the Dogs' Trust where Storm came from, and I think they would look at DH's disabilities as more of an issue than they did 9 years ago. We have to get a letter from our HA with permission (we have permission, as we had it for Storm, but haven't got proof) before we can send in the application so probably won't be for a while yet. Very much not moneysaving but here we are

@MrsShazbat I can highly recommend greyhounds, I have had one for the last 24 years and no they do not need a lot of exercise. Look at the retired greyhound trust but there are loads of greyhound rehoming places (sadly ☹️). The big 2 rescue places wouldn’t even look at me despite being a dog owner since 2001

Awww. I've got a couple of friends with greyhounds and I've heard they like the easy life. I think the big rescue places are shooting themselves in the foot these days - I appreciate they've got to be stringent with their checks but I think they've gone to the opposite extreme of TOO picky, and while DH isn't "disabled" per se, he's had cancer twice, is diabetic, overweight and had 3 stays in hospital while we had Storm, plus we both work full-time hours, so we've no hope! And I don't like their policy of "you won't be able to choose a specific dog, we will decide who to match you with". 2 of the dogs we were looking at on the RSPCA are showing as reserved today, plus their application form as linked from the dog's page, isn't the right one so we can't apply there until we have the written permission/proof from the HA.Anyway, I've submitted an application to our nearest local sanctuary to get the ball rolling - they ask about landlord's permission but it isn't a condition that they need to see proof - at least at this stage. So we'll see what happens. We only kept 2 of Storm's toys (she wasn't a toy-orientated dog, I sent the rest off up to Dogs' Trust at Xmas) so we've got the shopping to look forward to

A very good Tuesday all SPCers. I hope everyone's doing their best to stay warm in this icey weather!
To all those who are ill in any way, or low in spirits at all. Take great care and love from allhere at SPC
I'm so pleased you clearly had an amazing time jakes-mum! Sorry about the an awful time with jet lag, though I really can't even imagine what that must be like. My last lot of epilepsy drugs are total knock out drops so I'm not sorry we haven't been abroad for a good while.I'm pleased you're well on your way with SPC 19!I suppose it depends on how far you go with regards to jet lag Ant. If you're ever able to go to the Highlands I'm sure you'll be stunned by its beauty, we certainly were! You're off to another great start with the 5p you found, though if you go for an evening as it goes further into the season you'd best be sure to take a torch! 😂Morning Lost, I don't remember it raining down here yesterday, though it's been varying a lot between the northern and southern parts of the country over the last few weeks. It's beautiful down here today though not in temperature! 🥶 That's a great amount you've potted to start SPC 19 off, brilliant work!Excellent ideas october! The more cash the better, especially on a weekly basis. Since Covid we've had all our grocery shopping delivered which makes it much easier for hubby's spine problems so obviously that's all paid by card. The trouble is most of our village shops don't take cash which is a real pity, which means all my 5 boxes are virtually empty and staring at me! 😂Another 3 £1 coins potted Ant!Yes, good luck everyone with all your potting! 😀Well done with the transfer into your Plum account MrsShazbat. It's entirely up to you what you do.All the very best with a couple of Cockerpoo.Whichever type of dog you go for it'll certainly be good for your DH's diabetes. Our Jessie was never one for toys either, but a terrible sniffer.Ah he's simply gorgeous HettyHave a great Wednesday folks.SueDeclaration Day for SPC 0026 is October 22nd.............BEFORE --- BUT NO LATER, please! If anyone would like to join the thread, please just ask at anytime and you will be made very welcome.[/SIZE]Sealed Pot Challenge 001 My Totals SizeGrand Totals of all members[/B] (2008 uncounted) 2009 = £32.154.32! 2010 = £37.581.47! 2011 = £42.474.34! 2012 = £49.759.46! 2013 = £50.642.78! 2014 = £61.367.88!! 2015 = £52.852.06! 2016 = £52, 002.40!! 2017 = £50,456.23!! 2018 = £47, 815.88! 2019 = £38.538.37!!!! :j

Good evening everyone!
Another £2.41 potted.
I have a spreadsheet for a higher interest savings account where I save into different "pots". Well, my "pots" are cells on an Excel spreadsheet and two "pots" (or cells) are specifically for SPC. I only look at the actual total at the end of the year to make it a little more exciting.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 #18 £2021.83 declared3 -
