Evening everyone - made a sale on FB today so popped the cash in the pot - this is really helping with my decluttering, feeling quite motivated.

£12.45 into the virtual pot this week so far - doing a purse sweep tomorrow.

Very sadly, after a lot of tears and soul-searching DH and I had to surrender Holly back to the rescue centre on Tuesday evening.  Unfortunately she had turned on DH, we don't know why, but she had become more aggressive with her nipping and jumping bodily on him unprovoked.  We did have an emergency vet visit on NYE after she swiped his sandwich with mustard on it - whether she associates him with that now, we don't know but it was a difficult weekend and it just came to a head at teatime on Tuesday when we were trying to eat and she was trying to nick it.  Because he tends to sleep downstairs and we don't have a big house where she could be kept separate at night, and because the issues have increased over the last week or so, we had to take the decision.  DH had already made the decision really, he just needed to let me reach it too.  We're devastated, I do feel like we failed, but it's a condition of the adoption that dogs should be returned to them if it doesn't work out and there's no judgement from them (and please no judgement here) - if anything they know more about her than they did, but have to be transparent when you use words like "aggressive".  And honestly, she was so happy to be back there!  We didn't get a full bum-wiggle tail-wag at any point and she just walked straight back into the kennels.  She'll be a gorgeous dog for someone but they need infinite time and energy to work on her.  We will still adopt, but something medium-sized and a bit older/house-settled/trained.  Sadly no doubt post-Christmas rehomings will give us some options.

Anyway, onwards!!  Stay safe in this inclement weather xx
