A very good Saturday all Potters. What a chilly few days we've had! 🥶 Make the most of the warmer, though wetter days!!
To all those who are ill in any way, or low in spirits at all. Take great care and love from us all

Many thanks Ant, no doubt you're right about there being many germs around, after all it's typical of this time of year. I'm glad you reminded me of my savings as I meant to put it on the thread a couple of days ago.

Well done with what you've potted Hetty, did you search the cauliflowers just in case?! 😂

Thanks so very much Siju, I agree and whatever it was it certainly hit me hard. I hope so much that we all  keep free from, what looks to be a particular nasty bout of flu this year.
When I say 'we' as well as all the family I also mean everyone here on the thread too! Stay healthy folks PLEASE!!!
Good for you with some more change for your pot.

Many thanks LMD, it's a nasty time of year for sure. How is your dear husband?
    Another brilliant amount potted!!

I hope you enjoy a lovely treat thanks to you savings, Vicky
I always find autumn and winter to be rotten times of the year for illness, keep healthy and free from them! Well done with the £2 potted.

£20 transferred from our account to the SPC account   (many thanks Ant)

Enjoy what's rest of a wonderful weekend folks.

    Sue

    Thanks @VickyA_2
Enjoy your own break when it comes.
My daughter gave me a pound coin today. Said something about having needed it for her swimming locker but it hadn’t worked properly. Whilst it made no sense to me I gratefully potted it anyway

My son always gives me the change from his youth club tuck shop money “for the pot”.  It didn’t take him long to realise he gets it back anyway at Christmas in the form of gifts 🎁

Morning! Hubby is doing well thanks @Sue-UU, he's almost back to full time hours and he is hoping to start working nights again in the new year! Quite a journey we have been on.

I've added £3.80 in change to the pot this morning

One thing's for sure Ant, your daughter knew exactly where the £1 coin would be best off. I think if I had been her at roughly the same age as her, I'd have pocketed it for certain, after all it was only a £1! Although, a pound was a lot of money back then, so I doubt I would have done!  :o Still, it's happily with friends now.
Great potting with your £4 coins!

Your son knows where his bread is buttered too Hetty;)

Excellent news LMD!! I've been longing to hear this news! It's definitely been quite a journey you've both been on for sure, such relief!!

What a day it was yesterday, though if started on Monday night here!! Such strong winds and heavy rain! Totally different day today. More rain tomorrow, winds too, then again at the weekend depending where we all live.

Enjoy the rest of the week folks!!

    Sue

Hope you're feeling better @Sue-UU there's a lot going around.  DH has had a dreadful cough for a week, just constant and dry, nothing behind it, no other fever or illness with it.  He soldiered on at work last week, then had Mon-Weds off this week, and now he's finished till January so hopefully he'll shake the rest off now.  His main problem has been lack of sleep, plus because he mostly sleeps downstairs these days, he's sharing with a new dog

Aw thanks for your lovely comments   It's not going too badly, 18 days in.  We haven't signed on the dotted line yet so are still bound by quite a long list of rules for fostering - the biggest one being she must be on a long line even in the garden, and that's a bit of a pain.  She wants to explore, we've had loads of rain so the garden is really muddy, and we're fastened to one another.  You could argue that the sanctuary would never know if we let her loose, but knowing our luck something would go wrong!  We went to a secure field last week that we discovered near us but again, long lead, and the inevitable happened and I ended up in the mud.  For some inexplicable reason it never occurred to me that it would be muddy!!  Unexpectedly, we are also going down south next weekend as my FIL is 90 and having had no plans to celebrate it, there are now plans to celebrate it.  SIL has booked a secure field for all the dogs to meet, but the number of humans worries me as that's Holly's issue, not dogs.  Plus we're in a Travelodge AND it's at least 4-5 hours in the car (which she wasn't keen on for her first time last weekend) so it's going to be a lot.  DH says I'm worrying too much, I think I'm being realistic.  Unfortunately DH can't really do that length of journey alone any more and it's too soon to ask someone else to look after Holly so off we all go.

As for Christmas itself, what with my/our 2 weekends away and Holly arriving, I'm very behind with everything so I went and did all my shopping last Monday with my mum.  I've got a couple of gift cards left to get when I get paid next Thursday, but otherwise it's all done.  We're going to my mum's (so the dog can go ) and we've got 2 weeks off work this year (free/cost-cutting) so that's the only thing planned so far.
