So does that mean buy a share or buy a series of shares to the value of £200

Have you read the Terms?

Invest £200, and given that this buys a discrete number of shares you'd need to deposit slightly over £200. One or two other platforms might do partial shares, but not this one
Doesnt matter though if there is more than one transaction to reach the threshold, according to their chatbot
(I put in £200, bought just over £197, then thought of and asked the question, added and bought a bit more)
Edit: I did the previous offer. Someone below suggests this might not be quite the same, so check

Because I'm unfamiliar with these sorts of account it's a case of understanding them! whether I have to spend £200 on shares in multiple / a company. £200 x 2 free is worthwhile so keen to get my head round it.

Good point. Can anyone point me where to close my accounts? I can't see anything in account services or help sections.

I think you have to do it by phone or secure message, after emptying the account.

Not clear to me that you have to trade the full £200. It just says it will match the deposit and you have to make at least one trade which I assume can be of a lower value?

The £20 rate is for Premium Members I think.

Maybe, and worth checking. I did the previous offer, and I haven't read as deep into this one
You could try asking their chatbot. It's a lot more together than on some websites, but even so I'd imagine not necessarily fully underwritten if anything turns out ambiguous

I did a previous IG offer around 10 months ago, it was 7.5% interest on money in a GIA. It lasted for 3 months during which I think I had to make 3 or 4 trades.
I closed my IG account last October, would I be classed as a ‘new customer’ now and qualify for this new offer ?
Update - it would seem I’m not eligible as The T&Cs state must not have held previously a GIA, or ISA….0
