The US markets are still open. I'm assuming the promotion doesn't restrict you to European markets.

I'm not able to do anything until much later tonight...

US markets close at 21.00 GMT and on Friday IG's extended hours session for certain US shares runs to 22.00.

Do you have to close it or can you open an additional, especially if you have subsequently converted a simple to a Sunny Day (which I accidentally did and still got the cashback on the simple)

New IG offer

thanks, I might grit my teeth and take the £200 match one for a GIA…
EDIT: oh no I won't… it looks like I have a residual GIA record from when I briefly and abortively tried a previous SIPP transfer. I never deposited anything, nor did I want a GIA with them at all, but it looks like that has stuffed me under the 'new customer' term.Oh well, I wasn't exactly a fan after the last try. No great loss.

Thanks. Was thinking about the Freetrade offer for an ISA transfer, so this gives another option. May well take advantage of both, my ISA into one and my wife’s in to the other.

So do I just have to deposit £200 I a GIA or do I have to also do something else? Never been great with understanding these sorts of account!

Here's the full T&Cs. https://www.ig.com/uk/deposit-match-feb-26
Seems to me you have to "make a trade".

You have to invest it by 13/2, can't just leave it as cash.
Also "Stay active until 30 June 2026 by opening, closing or holding at least one position each month." I would assume from this that you can withdraw most of your £200 and leave a minimal amount in the account in order to qualify.
