I thought the same. The bonus doesn't make up for the loss in interest which you could have gained elsewhere. I couldn't see anything about how long you have to keep the money in the account, but I may have missed something.
If you do have to keep the money there for 6 months, offers like this are unlikely to appeal to MSE forum members as we're quite skilled at finding the best interest rates.

HSBC's offer looks better: 4% AER on its 13mnth fixed rate Isa + £150 on deposits/transfers of £20k (0.75%) = c.4.75% for a year. This would be a market leading rate.

Well that rules out all the current account switches I've ever done…. once I've got the bonus I've cancelled any direct debits, not had any money going in and out, and kept it on standby for the next switch offer

all I can say, try it if you like but don't be surprised if this instance isn't treated exactly the same as those current account switches

It says in the terms (when will I get my cashback) that 'we will pay your cashback into your Lloyds current account by 30 September so you will need to keep this account open until then'.
I read that as needing to keep the ISA open until the end of September potentially (would you need to keep the entire transfer balance in or just £1?) - hence my reference to six months - but you could read it is needing to keep your Lloyds current account open until then.
And you need to hold a Lloyds current account to qualify for cashback - so it isn't open to non Lloyds current account customers making ISA transfers!

I assumed that "this" account referred to the ISA and not the current account, but there's no specific instruction to keep the full balance in the account. Possibly you could transfer out, or withdraw down to £1.
Anyway, irrelevant for me - most of my ISA savings are in fixed rates with varying maturity dates, so I'm not in a position to take advantage of this offer (if there is any advantage…)

I was looking at this one last night, could I ask your opinion on something?
I cannot realistically transfer in until 30/4/26, the offer ends 11/5/26.
The wording says something like 'application and supporting evidence for transfers must be received by 11th May'.
So to me that sounds like even if my transfer took 14/15 days as long as I have supplied proof of transfer I'll qualify.
Is that how others see it?

All it states is:
"The Offer runs from 9 March 2026 at 00:01 GMT to 11 May 2026 at 23:59 GMT (inclusive).
•Funds deposited or transferred outside of these dates will not be eligible.
….
Your application and supporting evidence for ISA transfers must be received by us within the Offer period."
I'd say the transfer needs to complete within the offer period. It doesn't state that transfers can be initiated within the offer period but can complete outside it. You might want to contact HSBC for clarification but these days cash Isa transfers are often very quick, taking just a few days.

Their online chat is a little hit and miss but I have to pop in the odd HSBC from time to time so I might do that, thankyou.

Has anybody tried opening a second type of investment? I opted for GIA but I do have some ISA allowance left. Terms don't state whether more than one investment type qualifies for cashback.
