is it the end of 12 month free contacts

They've been on there a few days. I suspect 12 months on better phones might appear; cpw have lost about 20% of their share value in the last couple of weeks (not entirely due to them in particular) and must have been struggling to make sales on cpw since they attempted to force people into 18 month contracts again. However, whilst some of us lament the (potential) loss of these deals there's an army on here doing their utmost to ban them If you value your right to choose I suggest you stand up and be counted. It's not popular right now, but if you don't those who shout the loudest will be heard. Check out this thread for starters:-

Just set up a petition on No 10 website saying that you wish for any regulations surrounding Cashback promotions to be cancelled and companies should be free to invent thier own terms and conditions for redemption.
By signing the petition you guarantee that legal action will not be taken against these companies due to non payment for however they see fit, and you are fully aware of this by taking up the offer.
You will also quite happilly pay full line rental to the network for the duration of the contract if cashback is not forthcoming, and hold the networks in no way responsible for its outlets offers.
I wonder how many signatories you will get?0 -
This is a cash back, not a price match phones on offer Nokia 6080 or a W200 both clearance on O2 400/500 m/t.
The quidco amount is showing at tracked £45?
Its on O2.
Got a couple of the Dec 12 months free phones but these were price match on OrangeSeth.0 -
Sorry - it doesn't work that way at all. People know the t&c when they sign up (or would if they bothered to read, print and consider first). It's quite simple to use the law when companies don't pay - there is absolutely no need for any legisalation changes in that regard. Why change it when it works and isn't broken? Time and again this government has tinkered and broken the very things it claimed to want to "improve". People on these threads can't have it both ways; they bemoan the lack of cashback deals and there's a stampede when they appear. Most can't be bothered to question or check or consider beforehand and then come crying on here when it all goes wrong. Whilst I have helped a lot it isn't my responsibilty to do so. In fact, BY helping I'm working against my own interests since fewer fail to get their money. When a dodgy dealer pops up many rush in and grab tons of contracts all from the same place - then immediately start crying "crime" etc and blaming everyone except themselves - even though they are the guilty party. You cannot "protect" the foolhardy; they are simply re-directed to something else they don't question or understand and it all starts again. Meanwhile, those who do take the time and trouble to understand and obtain their money get penalised for those who don't. I prefer it the other way round - as it is now.0

Price match was cashback. It's only the label and t&c which have changed.0
