is it the end of 12 month free contacts

Phones 4U have the Samsung U600 Clearance with 11 months free on a 12 month contract. It's on Dolphin £35.0

I saw that yesterday. However, it's a "buy later", meaning you can't buy one!0

whats buy later ?0

yeah they can claim the VAT back on the Xboxes etc and they can also bulk buy etc ?? so it does work out better for them !0

Exactly .. blaming myself for no taking a free Orange-Chocolate contract that was available from OSPS/e2save before Xmas
Another closest deal now is Vodafone-Chocolate from Phones4u, costing you about £100 for 12 months, but Quidco + Ebay should bring the cost to zero at the end. But there are bad points though:- Not possible to port number to Vodafone when ordering at Phones4u-online.
- Nature of Phones4u cashback terms - personally I do not fancy the idea of losing about £400 because of another Royal Mail strike or human error
Any ideas, please share ..0 -
Only one. It's a mistake to wait until the end of the contract before getting another one if the deal is free! That's one of the reasons I have so many. I do at least have another 11 months before I'm without a free phone and minutes and texts. If and when another suitable 12 month free deal does appear I won't worry about when my existing contract(s) end - although I never port my numbers, which helps!0

But I do, that makes the difference ...
I am not really panicking as ported my number to a temporary PAYG SIM and using a spare contract for calls, just a bit of hassle. Hope something descent will come soon0 -
I would still advise don't panic - the affiliate newsletter for e2save came out this morning (I subscribed specifically so that I knew if any deals were coming up). I don't necessarily recommend them (given the comments on other threads!) but it makes interesting reading regarding their policy that they are telling affiliates and possibly indicates how the market will continue (i.e. no change - cashback still running but other offers as I indicated earlier):Firstly I hope you had a great break over the Christmas period!
Very much looking forward to 2008. This year you’ll see developments both in the systems provided but also in the account management support. But most importantly you’ll continue to get the best deals on the market backed by the number 1 retailer in mobile phones in the UK and Europe; The Carphone Warehouse.
What can we learn from 2007?
You’ll have noticed that ‘cashback’ came to the fore front of the media through programmes like Watch Dog. Big merchants went into liquidation for providing over inflated deals that they couldn’t fulfil. Being backed by CPW means that your commission payments are safe.
In 2008 you will see more and more customers looking for automatic cashback deals and free gift deals as a result – all of which are auto dispatched – no need to claim.
E2save have an extensive array of free gift deals (useful deeplinks below) which will continue to grow as the year unwinds. And of course we will continue to provide market leading cashback deals.
Edited: Forgot to say - I was contacted by CPW direct at the end of last week as I am in the 11th month of my contract - they are offering 13 months free on an 18 month contract (no phone, 4 claims) - not bad as a first offer and perhaps demonstrates that the cashback deals have not stopped.

An update - looking at e2save this evening they have an 11 month free on 12 month contract (plus Quidco cashback £36.50 therefore effectively 12 months free) therefore in answer to the original thread and panics that these types of offer had ended, they are still there.
That said, e2save do not have the best reputation at the moment according to other threads ...

They have a few 11 months free deals and 10 months etc., excellent value.
I regard the Quidco cashback as my "special delivery" costs.
Bad reputation???????? Depends how you deal with them. Follow their advice and all will be OK.
By far the best company I have dealt with since the Mobileshop early days.
At the moment, far less of a risk than most, recommended.
