Not quite, you are legally allowed to ask a colleague about their salary, disclose your own pay, or receive pay information if you suspect inequality or discrimination.
Employers can gag salary discussion for other reasons.

Except for issues far outwith the scope of this thread e.g, disclosing pay data with competitors, publishing data externally or straying into potential gdpr breaches, can you suggest where employers can legally enforce silence on the matter from their employees.?
