Getting paid less than others.

You can absolutely query it and ask if there’s any way you could be paid more, whilst putting up a good case to show why they should pay you the extra three hours. They are under no obligation to do so.And your marital status is completely irrelevant to the discussion, so if you are requesting more money, you need a much better reason than that.
A common reason for different rates of pay for the same work can be how easy or difficult it was to attract suitable applicants at different times. If, for example, a local competitor has closed down there may have been a number of suitable people looking for work. At another time a firm may have to offer over the odds to attract a suitable person.
But, apart from a handful of unlawful reasons, they can pay who they like what they like!0 -
The OP agreed to a 35 hour per week contract and is paid for that. The other drivers have 38 hour contracts, which are not relevant to the OP.0

The actual numbers are broadly irrelevant; the fact they are doing (or are contracted for) more hours hence are paid more is the relevant point.Gam2015 said:

Unfortunately fairness or unfairness counts for nothing in employment, lawfulness is what countsGam2015 said:

So they are getting paid more because they work 3 hours more, but, are you all on the same hourly rate, or are you on a lesser rate?Oh, and wouuld you be happy to work an extra 3 hours?0
