@Dirool This is how these PPCs want people to feel when they issue these PCNs (aka Speculative Invoices): they want you to feel down and powerless. MPs have described PPCs in very specific terms in Hansard.

Please have a read through the NEWBIES thread, ask questions and follow the advice of the regulars on here: they win over 97% of cases (I'm sure @Coupon-mad or @Umkomaas will correct me on that one as I'm not sure of the more recent figure).

I have 7 days left to pay the £100 or refer this matter to POPLA. I don’t want to involve POPLA
What happens if I simply don’t pay up ? Can they just lodge it in the Small Claims Court or can they get debt collectors involved ? I have no problem going to court if the worse thing that could happen is I have to pay £100

First it's powerless debt collectors letters , nothing to worry about

Then a Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice,  you respond

Then a possible Money Claim via the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL,  to sue you,  so you deal with it

Then it's several stages that may end up in a courtroom hearing,  more like an interview,  with money at stake

If you lost in court,  the typical total loss for a single pcn is the £100 pcn charge,  plus around £112 in court and legal fees, so about £212, with a month to pay in full

I thought I would try to contact the retail park management Elk Mill Oldham but apparently several companies manage it a bit strange

It’s really a simple matter, I broke the rules for reasons beyond my control-medical emergency.
The problem lies with me being unable to prove I was ill. If it was my arm or leg no problem.
My appeal is being prejudiced by the very nature of my illness and the appeal handler’s ignorance.

Ive read the BPA code of practice which clearly states that onset of illness must be considered in an appeal.
I’m a member of the Crohn’s Colitis Association and they were shocked by the way Nexus has treated me.
They said the appeal handler should look on their website to educate him/herself on the effects of Crohn’s.

What do I do now-just ignore Nexus and wait to see if they set debt collectors on me ? Or tell them I want it decided by a court?

    Both

    Ignore the debt collectors

They will probably discontinue before any court fee needs paying

Just follow the process with help from here

Complain about it to your local MP too

Complain about it to Savills too

The owner of the Elk Mill Retail Park in Oldham is British Land plc, and the park is managed by Savills plc.

British Land is a real estate company that owns and operates the retail park, which is built on the site of the former Elk Mill cotton mill.
