There is another thread where they are having issues with finding a rental.
So this is a alternative they are exploring. When given they are going to be homeless & disabled. Maybe should be taking up with local council to home them, as others have suggested & not be looking at something like this thread.

Margaret, a £700 van is almost certainly a money pit, that will cost you far more than the purchase price

It will almost certainly be essentially scrap, and is unlikely to be roadworthy at the point you buy it - so you shouldn't be driving it away

Have you taken the advice in the previous thread to approach your council? As you're disabled and on a low income, van living is unlikely to be a very good idea.

I’m merging again as although the question is slightly different it helps so see the background of the story.

OP, it would help if you actually responded to some of the questions , plus I would add

    1) are you buying a van that actually runs
    2) are you going to test drive it and have it checked over by someone who knows what they are looking at as a £700 van is likely to be a money pit, and you can’t park it on any public ground if you can’t get an MOT.
    3) have you sorted out the insurance issue if you are off no fixed abode.
    4) have you sorted out the hygiene issues and cooking issues raised several times already.

And to add to that, do you know where you’re going to keep it and what will you use for a postal address?

No, I don’t suppose you would. You could record it on your phone. Or take someone with you.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Margret, please knock twice if you’re actually reading any of the advice people are giving you.

I don't think the replies are being read looking at the OPs activity, they post and go each time. It's a shame as there is a lot of useful advice and people have spent time trying to help - but it's being ignored. I worry that if this £700 van exists and OP manages to collect it safely- that they are basically just throwing £700 away - plus any insurance/Mot/ repairs etc that are going to be needed upfront (and which unless OP has read the previous replies they might be overlooking).
