Afternoon all. Many years ago when we had cats we had a rolltop breadbin. Came home from work one day to find one of them had opened it and between them they had eaten half a loaf of bread and four currant buns......we kept it sellotaped up after that.Dull here. Dry but the washing is just sulking. I think I'll be hanging it round indoors later to finish off.Updating my old laptop today before Windows 10 stops updates and they've got a scheme you can enrol on for free which extends updates for another year. Obviously that's after I bought a new desktop a few months ago to get Windows 11. Grrr. Never mind. So if anyone is on Windows 10 it would be worth checking the update settings. Was supposed to be seeing DGD2 today but she's got a bad cold so that's cancelled (so DH doesn't get it). DS tried to go back to work today after his cataract operation but had to leave after 10 minutes because the bright lights made him dizzy. He's not safe to drive or operate machinery. He's only worked there for a few months so we're hoping they will keep him on. DH isn't too well today so we had a short walk round the block but he needs to stay in now.Feels like a Sunday
Hope everyone's OK x8 -

I've just spent a fruitless hour searching all over this computer, unable to understand why I couldn't find the button to click to have the free updates for a year on Windows 10 - only to discover I've got Windows 11 on it! I then checked my laptop and the button appeared instantly, so that one's completely sorted thanks to you.WM x 1 on the line.Builder paid for the work he's done on the wall, someone has hacked back some ivy that needed dealing with elsewhere and has arranged for repairs to that wall too. Ivy is a bu**er and I have well and truly learned my lesson about it this past few weeks.Chocolate puddings made. I poured ten pots without any trouble at all and didn't realise I hadn't taken the lid off the eleventh so that pour went absolutely everywhere. Much scraping of the work surface and much licking of all the tools.Throwing in the towel now.Better is good enough.7

DH went out at 7.15am to steward at a model railway show an hour's drive from home, and didn't get back until 6.45pm, so today I have flown!

(and there's still another load of DH's bedding left to do tomorrow). I hung some of my bedding out, but it was still almost as wet when I brought it in about 6 hours later, so I've had to use the TD quite a lot. As it is, the bathroom still looks like Widow Twanky's wash house, with clothes hanging from the shower rail and draped across two airers and both radiators
- cleaned all through upstairs, thoroughly
- cleaned the downstairs bedroom and ensuite
- walked Rosie despite having horrid backache
- took a dose of parrots and began to feel better
- did a bit of searching for a friend's ancestors
- whilst watching Strictly, knitted and stuffed a mini snowman for the Christmas Fayre, but he still needs eyes and a nose - I might try to knit a mini carrot
- ate things that are bad for me during the day
but cooked a healthy risotto this evening
Glad to hear that Valli is feeling better xx and round survived work - you're another week closer to your retirement xx
You amaze me with your walking challenges, Kaz xx

Thank you Valli I will definitely look into the bowls.
DD2's cat has a thing for bread too! If she doesn't remember to hide it away he'll have it. So far he's opened a loaf of bread and munched on several slices, the same with a couple of packets of wraps. He's also helped himself to a packet of YumYums straight out of the shopping bag! He ate one whole one and nibbled on the other 3. Now of my cats have ever done that so we thought it strange, it's nice to know others have similar problems.7 -

Potter around tidying & PUPA
FUPA
S&S kitchen & bathroom
More October-🐸 planting
Watch WSB 🏍
Plus, commence operation 'seasonal clothes swap-over' - will be another HH per day thing
Oooh, and exercises (forgot these yesterday)

Morning all xx
It was foggy here first thing. The sun has burned through now, but I don't know if towels and tea towels will dry outside. They were hanging limply when I last looked.
Pots are soaking while I have a coffee.

Afternoon all. My washing is sulking on the line, doesn't feel any drier than when I hung it out about 6.30 this morning. Apparently it's sunny this afternoon but doesn't look sunny to me.Dusted and vacuumed upstairs all round this morning. We had a little walk and a chat with somebody we see out walking until we all got cold and carried on round. DH watching motorcycling, sometimes through the back of his eyelids.....Hope you feel better soon Valli and everyone else is OK x7

All the plants are planted, just remaining 8,000 bulbs (or maybe around 200) to go. Although 2 hanging baskets need re-stocking due to me nicking bits to plant out the front. Trip back to the plant man next week.eltee2 said:Morning all HB's Chocolate plan sounds yum!
