Hello all. I'm here too.
Wordle in two. Wednesday passed in a blur, yesterday I got two wash loads dry on line and hoovered through. Today I have made a cake for DiL which I will decorate tomorrow when she comes over for birthday celebrations. Dailies are done, admin up to date on new computer which I'm still getting used to and I'm back to paid stuff soon.Spend less now, work less later.4 -
wordle was a challenge for me - I got the 2nd letter and the final 2 letters but with so many options I ended up a 6 guesses. Connections I scraped but I continue to sail through strands now I'm in the zone
2 washloads on line. Decorator not coming today - but he plans to be here this weekend. Not an issue though as floor people can'r come until next month. Paper is all on and it looks fantastic. He has doors and fences to paint.
Got a surprise appointment at the breast clinic. Turns out it's my 3 year follow up (and they'll have told me about it back in the day, no doubt, but I had forgotten) so that's in the diary.

Afternoon all.Not enough washing for a load today, which is good because although dry it's not much of a drying day. Still and dull.Yesterday we went out for a little drive, a walk and coffee. The first time in 10 days because DH hasn't been well enough. Hopefully things are looking up. Not just for my sake but he gets down when he's stuck in for too long and then he gets so he doesn't want to go out.My DS's birthday today. 43 - how did that happen?:)Glad you're on the mend Valli. Hope everyone else is OK x5

Glad you're on the up and up Valli.I had a manic morning yesterday doing things that needed to be done and was two minutes late to the dentist - my bad. I like my dentist and we both laugh a lot between him drilling and filling but I can't say I look forward to going to see him. Dropped in to the vet to pick up Wren's worming tablets and thence to the garden centre next door for some garlic bulbs. I may have also picked up about 50 whoopsied pansies which I have potted up today because they were in dire need of a lot of TLC. When the begonias have gasped their last the pansies will replace them, but in the meantime they're sitting in pots in trays on the sundeck having been thoroughly watered. I'm hoping they perk up by tomorrow morning with all that care and attention. The journey home was a flippin' nighmare. I was told at the GC checkout there was an accident on the A38 so best not go that way unless I wanted to be involved in very long delays. I cut across country through some very narrow lanes and flip me, a lot of people need to up their game in those lanes. Eventually I got bored of sitting in the car waiting for someone to make a decision to do the right thing and back up, fortunately at roughly the same time a cheerful man decided the same thing and we ended up 'suggesting' several people back up a bit and shunt around a bit more so that the jam could clear. I'm afraid that once I was out of it I just carried on driivng because the lack of gumption of the part of the rest of them was driving me demented. Lovely fella who helped sort it out, so big shout out to him and all those people with commensense. We seem to be a bit short of them at the moment. It was then beep and creep traffic for over two hours to go about seven miles home which took two hours.Scaffolding has gone up for the stonemason/builder to start tomorrow, the kitchen floor is half washed, the bird bath has been washed out and refilled, dog walked, the rest of her paper ripping scraps have been picked up and the radish seeds she scattered everywhere because she nicked a packet of the out of the gardening trug have all been gathered up as well.I'll do more later but I need a break now.Hopeless on Connections again, Wordle in five and Strands was a joy.Better is good enough.5

Hiya, been lurking again and not done much.
Wednesday I had my mental health walk which was nice and no rain. Even though I enjoy the walks I'm still finding the social interaction hard work.
Thursday DD1 and my GS took the cat and I to the vets as I've been worried about his weight gain and thought it could be something nasty. Luckily the vet said basically he's just fat. I have to keep an eye on him, get him to exercise more and put him on a diet. He's not interested in exercise and how do I put him on a diet when I have another cat in the house?!
Today I walked to Mr A to see if the Dr had finally sent my prescription there after I reordered it again and by some miracle they'd sent a prescription for ALL my meds! I was so shocked. The pharmacy lady and I joked that the Dr's must of got fed up with me going down there so gave me everything to shut me up.
In-between all this I've done 3 loads of washing and TD what I could. Done the DW, SS the kitchen and finally sorted through all the car stuff since that's now gone
My SIL is going to have all my actual car stuff as he does up old cars in his spare time.
Tomorrow/ Sunday I hope to do a freezer inventory and tidy and then start some batch cooking to fill it up again.
Going to start dinner now

Good morning my lovelies xx
Ahhhhh. Weeeeekeeeennnd. Love it.
I had a good day / week at the paid stuff but it was still lovely to come home last night, change into my scruffs, and sit down to Richard's House of Games with a coffee and chocolate bar (which mysteriously jumped into my basket at the Co-op the night before 😉) knowing that I didn't have to be up and on this morning.
It doesn't stop me waking up and getting up early - still came down at 7, but in my dressing gown and all the time in the world to savour that first sip of my brew. Completed Strands with two hints needed for the last word 🤦♀️, completed Wordle in three, completed Connections with no lives lost. Caught up on FB etc. Saturdailies List is written and ready to be ticked off.
Time for another brew first methinks.
Have a lovely weekend

I've made my bed and put out fresh towels and tea towels. I'm showered, washed hair, etc and dressed. WM is swishing first load. I've put out the rubbish and recycling and put new bin bags in bins. I've fed the birds and changed Joey's seed and water.
Coffee now. Join me?

Sureflap make some microchip-activated food bowls - my friend had them for her two cats, one of which had a special diet due to kidney issues. The lids close automatically and open when the cat approaches. For exercise - carry him upstairs and leave him there (to walk down on his own?)wendywitch said:

Decorator here fence painting etc in the 'garden' (meadow more like). Rabbits therefore confined to pens so that electrical cords remain unchewed. I would have gone tho the neighbours farmshop as they've opened their xmas marquee and its a lovely day,.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Valli love that place it has been many years since I have been.I agree microchipped feeding bowls for the cat. No treats, or any food for either of them over night, love the idea of taking it upstairs and leaving it to walk down, how about small toys, remote mice, those red dot laser type pens so they can chase the dots about, scrunched up newspaper, tied with string on the end of a pole / brush handle when it moves they are ment to chase it, get the other cat to have 'playtime' and chase it around.A tag round its neck asking the neighbours NOT to feed it.If one of my cats needs to be starved before an op, then I am afraid to say it happens to all of them, as oon as ill cat is boxed, then they get fed.Walking is done, I'm doing the 100 miles October Breast Cancer, so far so good.Ironing doneChilli portioned up and frozen.Hoovering done (I love my new hoover)Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

I came downstairs once to find a chewed loaf of bread (still sort of in its wrapper) when I was starving a cat prior a trip to the vet. I had no idea they'd eat bread. Ours are indoor cats and they do have a tendency to put on weight simply because they get bored, so we spend quite a lot of time giving them 'exercise food' where we throw their biscuits one at a time so they have to 'hunt' it up and down the stairs. Also, with ours, we find that three or four meals a day works better than only feeding them once or twice. In the wild they'd get a mouse, feast on it, sleep and then go hunting again. What they wouldn't do is hunt, bring down an ox, feast, and then not need feeding for another 12 or 24 hours. Having just said that, I think Professor Higgs thinks he's kept on a starvation diet (he isn't) because last night he nicked a fish skin off my plate - not allowed, I don't feed animals at the table - and this morning he nicked a tiny square of feta cheese from the salad I was making. I reckon if he's not trying to steal food we're over-feeding him. He looks sleek and his coat's glossy, so I know he's not underfed, just greedy. Always has been.Dog walked, salads prepped for tonight's supper, trainers demudded, pansies checked and watered as appropriate, listies written for today's 'I must do that' jobs. There are a few, although nowhere near as many as when I started making myself do the first one that springs to mind every day as the September Challenge. That was a real game changer for me.Better is good enough.6
